It's at the San Diego Comic-Con, probably the biggest comic convention in the US.. I think Pixy was being sarcastic when he said "little."

The Land of Dragons (Boss Battle)
From the start of the battle Sora, Goofy, and Mulan are on top of the dragon, in which you target the monster's horns and attack it. There are several reaction commands that are used during the battle One is you can hang on to one of the horns while the dragons wists and turns trying to knock you off. Pressing triangle again will have Sora letting go. If you do get knocked off, the dragon will create mini whirlwind that you can ride on by pressing triangle (Ride the Whirlwind) and pressing triangle again (Soar) to elevate you back on the dragon. Another reaction command is called "Slide", when the dragon tries to crash into Sora, Sora will slide underneath him and attack the bottom of the dragon sending him upward and crashing down while Sora poses for the camera. The only problems for this fight would be the camera, the camera tends to stay close to Sora a lot especially if the you are near the dragon. It also makes it difficult to use the whirlwind.

The Land of Dragons (Mission Battle)
You start off in a small village that is overrun by different heartless. From there you make your way to the mountainside fighting the dusk/nobodies. The reaction command against the dusk is called Power Pivot in which Sora quickly moves behind then for a strike. Another is called Speed Trap which Sora spins his Keyblades in a helicopter motion. Moving upward and a cutscene is triggered (it shows Shan Yu commanding a swarm of bee like Heartless at you) then you must fight for 2 minutes trying to stay alive against the heartless. Once you successfully do, it shows a cutscene of Mulan firing a rocket at the mountain side causing an avalanche. After that the demo ends.

Olympus Coliseum (Boss Battle)
The level starts off with Sora and Auron getting ready to do battle against Cerberus. Here you can try out the combo attack called "Bushido" in which Sora and Auron clash their weapons together in which then you have to press triangle during series of Aurons attacks (Bushido blade, Shooting star,) in which if you successfully do, the last attack (Spiral) shows Sora and Auron throwing their weapons that create a huge whirlwind. The reaction command against Cerberus shows Sora getting in between Cerberus's heads while the middle hit tries to attack him, pressing triangle will have Sora lodge his keyblade between Cerberus's teeth, pressing triangle again will launch Sora again in the to execute the final attack (Doggy Paddle) in which it knocks down and stuns Cerberus enabling you for an open attack. Strange thing about this battle is that Goofy is not present but you are able to use Valor form in this fight.

Olympus Coliseum (Mission Battle)
This demo starts out with Sora, Donald, Goofy and Auron running from Hades, in which he catches up to them. Hades goes into his berserk mode (he's invincible too) and sends a number of heartless after you as well as firing huge fireballs. The goal is to defeat the amount of heartless in one spot before the barrier breaks down and you move on to another while repeating the same process. A reaction command can be used on the hook bats in which Sora uses his Keyblades to hook on the hook allowing him to swing across the battle field. Once you make it to the exit you are taken to a cave. From the entrance you see a treasure chest which you open with triangle, inside the chest is a map of the area (think of the Zelda games). From there you move on to another area featuring more heartless and another treasure with an elixir and more heartless. When you exit that area you start the battle with Cerberus (see above). Then the demo ends.

Notes:
* During the demo, you can skip the cutscenes, which should say they'll be in the final production.
* The triangle button (also known as the reaction button) has other uses other than in battles (i.e. Open chests)
* While in Drive mode, Sora can't cast magic.
*Drive bar maxes at 3 when in normal mode, once it's activated, it starts at 5.
*When not attacking in Drive, the bar slowly drains, whenever you attack and defeat enemies, the bar quickly drops.
*Items now stack instead of having them as individual items in your inventory
*Fire, Blizzard, and Thunder's animations are all changed. Sora will create flames around him when using fire, thunder now can juggle the enemies, and blizzards shoots out faster.
*The shortcut menu will now feature the X button (in the demo it was to use potions)
*There are two menus the main one featuring: Attack, Magic, Items, and ? (? is replaced with Bushido if Auron is in your party). Pressing left on the dpad reveals another menu featuring: Attack, ? , Party, Drive.
*Pointing the left analog stick in different directions in valor forms changes the final combo attack.
*You need to find maps for each part you're in inside the chests (think Zelda games)
*There's now a Next level meter in the upper left hand corner which it tells you how close you are to leveling.
Yay!! Cut-scene skipping!!

Reaction button? The lady at the SquareEnix booth at E3 called it the "gimmick" button The reaction button I feel is a great addition to Sora's combat abilities, during the Hades boss battle (Cerebus) It felt like something out of God of War, but ya know less violent. It looks like Im buying two RPG's this holiday .

I'm glad to hear that David Boreanaz is back to voice Squall. As sad as it is I was so high on Angel at the time (and KH sounded so damn quirky I wanted to see if it worked) that was one of the main reasons I bought the game. Doesn't matter how you get there, just as long as you do.

With both Disney and Square involved I expect nothing less than excellent casting. I loved who they got to do Yuffie, especially since she was the only character I gave a damn about in FFVII. I was also amused at who they got to do Sephiroth, it worked really well but of course all the fanboys pissed and moaned simply because who he was.. it's so sad it's funny. If you check out any of the videos on the site above you'll notice that Sora's gotten a little added bass.

Am I missing something? I clicked the link above and found the links for the videos but they all lead to a site called FileFront which doesn't have any videos for KH2.

I am comfortable enough in my manhood to say that yes I rocked Nsync and even I thought it was funny as hell that Lance was doing the voice. I knew people wouldn't like it just because he was in a boy band, but whatever. You're right though, it worked really well. Would have never picked him, but he certainly pulled it off in his limited role.

I would assume that if they bring in anyone from FFX they would use the already established VA's yes? I didn't play that game so I wouldn't realize if they didn't but I'm still interested to see what they do.

The news post with the new videos in a couple of pages back (page 3 as of this post). I don't think they've added any new videos to the actual videos section of the site in a while now.

I think the characters from Destiny Islands were all from X but as little kid versions, so I doubt they used the same voices. The only new FF character they've shown is from X so perhaps they'll use the same voice. I'm not familiar with the characters so either way is okay with me.

But speaking on the voice work.. I did have two nit-picks: the guy who did Sebastian sucked and I can't stand Homer Simpson impersonating Robin Williams. Other than that, good work all around. James Woods stole the whole damn show though, he rocks. I'm so glad to see Hades in the game again.

Just a bump as a reminder that the Square-Enix party is happening this weekend and I'm hoping beyond hope that a release date is set for Kingdom Hearts II. The party is supposed to spotlight Kingdom Hearts II and Girly-Boy Fantasy XII but all their other upcoming titles will be there as well (Radiata Stories, Grandia III).

The theme song has been announced. Passion by Utada Hikaru. No samples on the site and no word if there will be two versions again (Japanese and English). Looks like the dozen Final Fantasy VII sequels are also going to be on spotlight at the event this weekend. Yay. [/sarcasm]

Summary of stuff from www.kh2.co.uk so far.

- There is a new poster.
- The playable worlds are in Beast Castle and Land of Dragons.
- Beast is in your party.
- You get to go Co-Op with Minnie (not in the demo).
- Minnie's Magic attack is Holy.
- New reaction command: Speed Killer.

We have discovered the name of the blue drive form. Introducing*drumrole*

Wisdom Form!!!

While in Wisdom Form a command apears called "Shot" (or Shoot). You also do not run while in Wisdom form! Instead you glide through the air (we don't know how high). *Side Note* If you hit the O (In the American/European version it will be X) button 3 times, Sora attacks 4 times. (Magic maybe?)

- Cloud and Squall (Leon) were shown.
- Xaldin commands the power of wind.
- Diz/Ansems voice may have been heard.. (there was a voice we just don't know whom it belongs to).

Aladin's Co-Op Techniques are "Speeder," "Quick," and "Trickster." Reactions are brilliant normally and exellent during Blue Form. Demix, part of the 13th Order weilds a Sitar, he flips back and talks for extended periods, he controls water via his musical performance, which he enjoys.

You get to visit Steam Boat Willie's world! (which plays in black & white? not sure.. english was poor..)

"Yochi Wada (Square-Enix CEO) has confirmed that KH2 will be released this year. Also he has said that the date will be revealed over the internet very soon! My guess is it will be around the Tokyo Game Show (September 16-18) through the Official KH2 site or Square-Enix's Newsletter."

Funny how Final Fantasy XII has a date set while Kingdom Hearts II does not have a date but will be out first.

This is the single coolest piece of news I've yet to pass on concerning Kingdom Hearts II.

While in the Steam Boat Willie world, all characters look like their earliest Disney designs, while Sora's design is likewise simplified to fit in. The entire world is also in black and white. Check it out: http://www.kh2.co.uk/image.php?image=scan50.jpg

I kind of wished I stayed spoiler free as to what worlds and such were going to be in this game, but I just cannot deny myself the joy of clicking these links. Damn you Pixy! The Steam Boat world is definitely on the top of my "most anticipated" worlds list.

Is there a firm (loose even?) number on how many totally new worlds we'll see this go round? In the new Official PSM mag they showcased the game and a lot of the worlds from KH1 are returning. BTW - Pixy, I'm curious to know what was your favorite world from KH1?

My favorite world? Probably Hollow Bastion. I loved the all the music there and it was an amazing way to jump out of the Disney worlds. But as for just the Disney worlds, I don't know if I can really pick a favorite. None of them really "stood out" for me more than the others. To be honest, all of the Disney worlds were pretty bland in comparison to their sources.

By the way, looks like the next chance a possible release date can be announced is another game shop in Japan September 17-18 (I think). I'm not going to count on it anymore since I was so sure something would be announced at the Square-Enix party.
