:lol: Go into CC wearing your uniform to buy the disc.

I worked at Best Buy several years ago, during the DVD/Divx "format war." On the day Divx died (6/16/99, I think it was), I went to CC during my lunch break, in my blue shirt, to pick up a few Divx discs--trophies of the kill, if you will. I still remember what felt like every CC employee in there staring at me as I walked in, browsed through their Divx titles, and took a couple up to the check-out.

Good times--and I still have my Apollo 13 Divx coaster, too. . .

Ummmm, what was the point there....why did you buy them?

Also, when are the new maps available? Can you D/L all nine yet? I know the disc comes out this week, right? CC has it for $15....it says Friday on the website though

It's only 50 cents I know, but I'll be buying it at BB and then pricematching with the CC ad for 110% of the difference.

I don't play online that much, but the other 'making of' type features on the disc make it worthwhile for me.

Ummmm, like I said, trophies of the kill. Did they serve a practical purpose? No, but I thought it'd be funny to take a couple of those things back to my coworkers to celebrate the failure of Divx. And. . . it was. We all had a good laugh about it. Besides, the discs were cheap (something like $2.50 each), so the eight bucks I spent that day really wasn't that big a deal.

So does anyone know if the Disc will be shareable among different xboxes?

Yea, you can load the maps on to as many xboxes as you like as long as you have the disk. If you do not want to pay for them, find a friend that bought the disk and ask to borrow it.

You can also rent the disk from most places like block buster.

Well, from the complaints my clan members were making last night, NO retailers have the disc yet, even though the "official" release date was yesterday. Nice work there. :)

I downloaded the new maps last night. They're pretty cool. Relic and Terminal are fricking huge. Played some Swords (Butcher) on Backwash. It was neat seeing the energy swords coming out of the mist like that. They did some interesting things with base/flag placement and teleporters on a couple of the maps (like Relic and Gemini). It will be interesting to see what kinds of strategies develop. Hopefully that cheating patch will come out soon. I'm tired of flying warthogs.

I'm debating if I want to just D/L the maps or buy the disc...I guess I can wait a day or two. I already bought the first 4 maps that were available a while ago.

Sorry to ask since it's only been light years since I last played but just what is on the "update" disc? I did download the (4) maps that first came out.

Nope, they still do not have it out at the store by me. I ended up just picking up the disk at work this morning.

Since you do not need the dvd after everything is installed what are the chances that there will be tons of used copies flooding the market a week from now?

My two buddies and I went in on the map pack together and we ended up playing for about 5 hours tonight.

I like most of the map but there are a few that I don't care for and most of the ones I thought I would hate are actually pretty cool. I'm looking forward to playing this online again.

Well, other than the sale price, you can d/l them all cheaper than the disc costs, not to mention they will all be free in a few weeks.

I played with a group of friends over the weekend. The new maps are pretty cool. Don't know them all by name but the board on the beach with a bunch of rocky ridges was a blast. Great with Rockets & Snipers. Also really enjoyed Elongation, the revision of the Longest from the first game.

There was only one I really didn't like, not sure of the name but it was a dark board with purple as the main color scheme and there is a big tree in the middle of the board.

Well, I D/L this weekend. I played about 5 Team Preview matches but I never played any NEW maps....I wish I would've waited now. My HALO 2 friends have seemed to slow down playing

Forgot to mention that we had zero problems installing the maps from one disc on multiple machines. Installed a whole lot faster than the original 4 d/l maps.

I signed up for a free trial for one of the online game rental services. The disc should be here tomorrow. I will cancel the next day. :)

Applied the new patch and 3 of the first 5 games I played had cheaters on them.

Was there more lag on recent games? It seemed like a few assholes were taking advantage of lagging. They were disappearing and appearing all over the place.

And what did they do to the Melee? Now it seems to take 3 or 4 hits to kill a guy when before 1 or 2 tops would do the deed. :grunt:

Also, while playing Unreal Championship XBOX said I lost my connection and sent me to the diagnose screen twice. Although I never lost the connection whiel playing HALO 2 tonite I wonder if this had anything to do with today's update?
