Metal Slug works ok, but is there a way to change the button configurations? The jump button is the ALT key, which is next to my windows key. I keep going out of MAME by hitting the wrong key on accident.

Yes, you showed up at the perfect time, since this is the first time we're doing that. You can try to beat the score of any game we've played previously. The list is at http://dvdtalk.home.comcast.net

For now I'm just going to put those new scores in that black column in the middle so I don't have to bother making a new page or rearranging anything. That's all you get for beating an old score though, no trophy or anything :)

Hit the tab key and it will bring up a menu where you can set all the keys.

He's probably not, but I don't think using the keyboard is really a handicap for donkey kong or most games that use a 4 way joystick. Besides you're the one that refuses to buy a joystick even though you play this as much as anybody here :p

Is it my fault I have a stock ride? If we were all stuck using the keyboard, it would be a level playing field, but some of y'all modded up your rice rockets fast and the furious style. :p

With the scores you've been putting up, you would win almost everything. If you had to use a joystick, I think you would be at a disadvantage :p.

I think I should've just put MAME in the thread title a long time ago. It's already busier in here :banana:

I was the only person (and I caught major crap for doing this) that would place it on the table and use my index finger on the controls instead of holding it and using my thumbs. I'd routinely score a touchdown on all of my first possessions. :lol:

What's really weird is that I was pretty good at these games in the arcade.. left hand worked the joystick, right hand worked the buttons. Using the keyboard, it's reversed; right hand uses the cursor controls and left hand works the buttons.

That game is probably 25 years old!
No wonder you're so good at the keyboard, you've had 25 years worth of experience playing keyboard style :lol:
