I still haven't been able to convert successfully (I get audio out of sync...) Links?

Which tool are you using? You could be having a codec issue.

Try iPSP

or PSP Video 9
(you will need MS .Net installed for this one to work correctly)
I recently got a converting program called "3GP_Converter" Runs much nicer and paster then PSP Video 9 (which barley worked).
Quote: Yep. Plus it seems liked a 1GB Memory Stick is the way to go for movies.

1. Saves you form rebuying movies you have on DVD
2. Much longer battery life during playback
3. Can rip to OAR (I assume)

Only draw back is lesser picture quality, but I think the other factors more than atone for that. I know that's the route I'll take if and when I pick up a PSP.
You are exactly right. This is what I'll be doing as soon as my 1GB Memory Stick Duo Pro arrives. I have the Clone Wars ready to go. I use my PSP while riding the lifecycle at the gym, and it passes the time very quickly.

i put clone wars on my son's -- using psp9 it took about 236M on a 512M card. encoding (from mpeg-2) took about 10 (?) minutes for 2 passes using the default settings for a 1.5h movie.

How did you know?
MWave has the 1 gig back in stock, fyi. Has anyone's order from MWave shipped yet? My card has been charged, but so far that's it.
iPSP is for Mac. I've tried Mobile Media Maker, PSP 9, and 3GP, and get sync issues all the time
iPSP is also available for Windows... but I think you do have to pay for it. 3GP Converter is free, and it's what I use. If you download the latest version, I think you have to go into the config file to set it to English (the earlier version I have has a little radio button to do that. What kind of files are you converting? I had no problem ripping DVDs (that I own, of course) and putting clone wars on it.

With the ability to rip video, I really don't see why anyone would buy UMD videos... sure the quality is better, but it's not in OAR anyway, and it drains the battery more than most games...
I'm also trying a DVD, and I get the video and audio out of sync I used 3GP, PSP Video 9, and Mobile Media Maker.

It sounds like a problem other than the converter you're using. I'm sorry I don't know what the problem could be, but I use PSP Video 9 and the video synchs with the audio. How long after you start the video does the audio get out of synch?
What's your computers' specs. Sounds like it could be an issue where you're computer isn't handling the conversion due to resource issues. But that's just a guess as I've heard of similar problems when ripping DVDs on slower computers.
Some it gets out of sync right away, some later. I have a P4, 3 GHZ, 256 meg memory.
That should be fine I'd think, unless the 256 RAM is choking it. Plus I'd think it would be out of sync from the start everytime if it was a PC problem.

I have converted downloaded video fine using 3GP, however not from dvd, what program do you use to get the video from the DVD. I also want to convert dvds I own.
My Brando screen protector arrived today. It's a pain to apply, but no worse than PDA screen protectors. Actually, since this one goes around the analog stick, d-pad and buttons, I guess it could be worse. Lining everything up was easy though. Getting all of the bubbles out was a different story. Having a clean room would be nice as every speck of dust creates a bubble. I got most of them out but I quickly realized that it's impossible to make it perfect. Hopefully I'll be able to work some of the other bubbles out eventually. I'm not sure if it's worth $15 but at least I don't have to worry about scratches or finger prints any more. It actually comes with 2 protectors, one covers the screen and the buttons (pretty much the whole front face) while the other just covers the screen.

Gromit, how is the glare reduction and overall image quality. I got one of those pelican screen covers and is sucks ass.

Pretty much the same on both glare and image quality as it is without the screen protector.

My understanding is that a protector that reduces glare will also reduce the image quality. If that's true, the glare is fine with me.

I'm starting to think that it's worth it just to reduce the finger print problem. I can actually use the PSP and not have finger prints all over the areas around the buttons. Plus, you can just wipe the screen with your hand to clear off any specks of dust.

I wish I was able to do a perfect install but the few bubbles will keep my attention and I'll forget about my single dead pixel.
Stupid mwave. Anybody recieved shipping notice yet?

I finally did last night! Woo hoo! Should come in time for my trip on the 22nd!
Having experienced sync problems, I think it's almost certainly due to ripping bad cells (and in my case I suspect seamless branching). If the video you created is immediately out of sync, try re-ripping without the first cell/chapter and see if that solves the problem. For whatever reason, FFMPEG was clearly inserting frames at the start (incidentally the first chapter branched) causing the video to be behind the audio by 3 or more seconds.
