I wish there was a FPS out
How the hell can they launch without a good shooter?????
Anyway a better question would be if you could only take one game on a 14 hour plane flight which would it be? I have a recharging pack so i am guessing I can get ~12 hour out of it if I need.
I really have missed most of the thread - I have been way busy with work
BUT
Man it this PSP the best thing ever? I cant imagine people bagging on this when it is such a huge step forward! Only beef is the joy stick position but I can live with it (oh and the damn_memorystick!)

Need for Speed Underground Question:
This game claims it is wi-fi playable ad-hoc/infrastructure, but it doesn't really seem to work infrastructure.
Is this just a mistake on EA's part?

I am thinking THUG or Spiderman. I know Lumines is a favorite but I cant see playing for long times or am I wrong?

Was the unit turned on? I think if you saw the screen with gameplay it would not be a problem. It is shiny though.

I'm very impressed with my "practically free" (traded in 3 games that are dead to me) copy of Wipeout. I thought 2 racing games for the PSP would be 1 too many. I think I like Wipeout better than Ridge Racer.

Also that doesn't take away from the fact you *shouldn't* have to buy a protector. This almost stinks of the GBA 1st gen screen which was garbage and you had to buy external lights to play the thing.

The LCD is similar to Sony's Xbrite technology on laptops. By coating class over the LCD they can generate a "cleaner" and "clearer" image whic is quite impressive. The downside to this approach is a glaring effect that can only be effectively minimized by moving the screen so as to not see when using it.
Applying so called screen protectors that have "anti-glare" technology built into them will reduce glare but at the sacrifice of the image quality slightly. By applying the anti-glare protector to are essentially patching a bandaid with a bandaid.
I use a protector with my PDA from a company called ClearVue (i think that was it) and they work the best out of the ones I've tried.

Chris: That's normal.
I just broke down and got one. It is AWESOME, and NO dead pixels that I can see. I am in love with it already, and I'll be buying a 1 gigger memory stick.
Now the load time are HORRENDOUS, though. I'm up and running with Wario Ware Touched in no time. The DS will still have a part in my life
(especially with all the awesome games coming out). I'm happy with both. The PSP is certainly awesome.
Now I got Ape Escape because it had gotten good reviews and I thought it would be fun. After I ran around the *@*&$*#&$ stupid monkey for 5 minutes without catching him, I realized that for my mental health I will have to get rid of this game.
Anyone want to trade Lumines for Ape Escape?

After walking into a Circuit City on the way to work to look at lap tops, I said to myself if there are any PSP's left, I would get one. Sure enough, there was oen left. So, of course, I bought it. AWESOME!! No dead pixels, which I was slightly concerned about. I picked up NBA and Untold Legends. It came with Spiderman 2 movie, which looks awesome. Anyway, here's a question. I had always planned on getting an IPOD but since I bought this, I figured I'd use the music feature on it. What format would be best to get the most songs and best quality onto one of those sony memory sticks? Their atrac format or regular MP3? And also, will any memory card work, or does it have to be Sony or sandisk?

From some user reviews, you can get the most songs on to a memory stick with Atrac3 and still retain decent quality.
Also, as long as DUO is in the name, regardless of the manufacturer, it should be compatible with your PSP.
