Just beat Trace Memory after playing for 5 and a half hours. It is pretty easy although some of the ways to solve the puzzles were actually pretty creative. A lot of reading going on in this game, but I didn't mind it. Weren't too many surprises in the story, but I will be going back and playing it a second time since I don't think I found every item.

I finished it the first time through today and my wife finished it yesterday. It took me over 6 hours. You really have to be careful to click on everything to unlock all of D's memories to get the best ending. My wife missed a few things and didn't get that part of the ending. I'm going to play it through a second time since I really enjoyed the game.

I will agree it is too short, but Cing did a great job with this game and I really hope they produce another point and click adventure for the DS. I had a blast playing it and some of the puzzles were very clever. They really did find a way to use every possible feature of the DS. If they can pull together a 12-15 hour adventure along with more of the great puzzles in this one it will be a solid title.

I'm just glad the point and click adventure game is still clinging to life in some way.

A friend of mine just got back from a vendor show where he said Nintendo showed off a red & silver DS that will come packaged with Mario Kart. He said that it would include "related" (think road signs, and probably characters) decal skins to personalize the DS also. Nintendo had not set a price for the bundle yet.

Here's the details:
Red DS, Mario Kart DS Holiday Bundle
10/2/2005, 5:32pm Eastern Time

According to NintendoDS Advanced, Nintendo will release a new Nintendo DS in Red (like that released in Japan alongside Jump Superstars) bundled with Mario Kart DS for the usual bundle msrp of $149.99. With Candy Pink and Turquoise Blue bundled with Nintendogs, the only colors still missing here in the states would be Graphite Black and Pure White (not including Pokemon versions).

Mario Kart DS has a release date of Nov. 7. The new DS color bundle may come around the same time.
I wish they would also release graphite already.

doh! I figured the only ones that were gonna be here this fall were the teal and pink ones. I imported a Red one for my sister, who just got it yesterday. But actually it wasn't that much more expensive than a US one.

Hell yes. I'm holding out until it comes over here, which may seem silly but I figure I'm still able to wait on getting one since I have access to one on the weekends for now. I'll be buying my first DS game this week (or is it next week) though and I'm seriously considering that import that's getting pimped here as well. If the Graphite DS isn't out here by the time Children of Mana or Final Fantasy III is out I'll probably cave to importing one.

Did anyone pick up Trauma Center - Under the Knife DS yet? I plan on getting it later after work today. I know the big rush will be for Castlevania so I figure I'll pick it up pre-owned later.

God damn! Awesome news today. Where do I start? Final Fantasy III, Mario B-Ball, ASH, Tales. And then an online launch in the US on 11/15 with the release of Mario Kart DS and Tony Hawk. Animal Crossing due on 12/06. To top that off I just picked up Castlevania D of S. Ice Cube said it best "today was a good day".

My wallet is going to be hurting but I'll be loving it! That announcemnet makes me really happy I bought a DS .

I'll be picking up Trauma Center as soon as I finish Castlevania. I've been reading some of the Animal Crossing Online details and its sounding really good. There's too many games to list from that list that I'm buying.

And Legend of Starfi 4!!

Just picked up Castlevania and Trace Memory. Going to get Lost in Blue tomorrow, and then Phoenix Wright next week. Will be up to 13 DS games . I love this system.

Damn, no kidding.

Let us know about the replay value of the non-Castlevania games. I'm on the fence about all of them as purchases, but I really want to play them.
