I should add that even though I'm 22, I have been playing games since I could pick up a controller. My parents bought "me" a NES for christmas the year it launched. I use quotes because I remember my father and his buddies playing it all of the time even though they bought it for me. I still remember that christmas though, and I've been in love with video games ever since.

Intellivision --> ColecoVision --> Nintendo --> Sega Genesis --> Super Nintendo --> Nintendo 64 --> PS2 --> Gamecube
Just turned 26 last week.
Still gaming strong. However, my patience for bad games and/or overly difficult games has decreased astronomically. I used to pound a game into submission until I beat it... once I started it, I was going to finish it. Hours upon hours of repetition. Contra without cheats, Ghosts and Goblins all the way through (yes, both times for you G&G vets. I still feel scarred from that all-night broken controller fiesta).
Now, I give up very easily when I feel I can't devote enough time to complete something. I just have too many other things I want to do I guess.... but gaming will always be one of them.

I remember picking up Atari 2600 when I was 10, I can't believe I was spending 50 bucks for atari games back then like astroids, space invaders, defender, etc... Now I'm 36 and still cruising on my playstation 2 and only paying 20 bucks for games. I usually wait until the games become that price.

My first gaming "system" was a magnavox Odyssey.
I do mostly RTS and RPG games now. I lack the ability to successfully "twitch" for games like Farcry and Doom3.

I bet nobody on this forum ever owned one of these:
More info here for the curious

Atari 2600 (grew up watching dad and brother play) > Atari 5200 > ColecoVision (B.C. Tires!) > NES > Genesis [Sega CD] > N64 > PS2 > GBA > GameCube > GBA SP. Probably get a Nintendo DS next, and maybe I can get an XBox for Christmas.
