Inverted or non-inverted y-axis? (FPS's)
Saw the discussion in this thread and been meaning to do a poll on this.

I vote for inverted personally, not sure exactly why. I don't play flight sims but inverted just feels more natural to me.

I agree with trigger. you folks are batshit insane. Maybe for flight. I do use inverted when flying in BF1942, But that's it.
I also don't subscribe to WASD.
My layout. S forward, A left, D right, Space back, Shift Jump and I leave W open for use item or whatever.

You people are ****in' crazy!
Unless you're using a YOKE to control your PC First Person Shooters... use NON-inverted!
On a similar note... WASD 4EVA!

I know it really doesn't make a huge amount of sense other than the first things i played much of from the first person were early flight simulators. So when i started playing Castle Wolfenstein and the like it just made sense to invert the axis. Now though, i can't wrap my mind around the non-inverted controls. It's pretty funny when i try, i feel like a mentally challenged 3 year old is controlling my character.

I use inverted when given the choice.
But if I have to use non-inverted, I will only play that game until I'm finished because it'll screw with my normal way of playing inverted with the other games.
It's more natural to me as in when you tilt the joystick back you look up just like the normal movement of your head.

Inverted feels more natural to me.
Oh, and I have better control (and thus play better) in a FPS console game than a FPS computer game, in response to Jack.

Inverted here as well.
I'm used to it in flight games, and I don't readjust my thinking because my character is walking on the ground instead of flying.
Think about it: If you play a flight simulator in the "cockpit view" you are basically playing a first-person shooter. It's really not that weird that people stick with inverted.

You know - instead of calling it "non-inverted", call it "normal". 'non-inverted' just sounds like anti-abortion or something... that might be swaying the voters. Something has to be.

Don't worry Trigger, these folks are just beyond strange. You ask any typical non-fly boy PC FPS gamer how they play and it will be Normal all the way. I suppose with the wave of Pad sticks on controllers it makes the typical inverted player. I know if I learned how to play FPS with a stick I would most likely play inverted, but I was raised with a healthy amount of PC FPS so I play the real way.. Normal.

I used to always use inverted. I only do it now for flight sims. I also couldn't get used to ASWD instead of the arrow keys for FPS in the beginning, but now I can't believe I ever used the arrow keys.
