Any review of any game or system is opinion unless a definitive number can be assigned to that game or system. I don't see why I would have to define that everytime I make a statement.
It is a fact, though, that you can not operate a clutch and brake with the same foot. I suggested that the buttons on the S controller were too round to play racing games. The responce was that triggers should be used. I said how that wasn't realistic and the only responce I have gotten back was "yes it is!" with no explanation. Those who think the S controller is better are trying to say that it is a fact that the S controller is better because of the triggers. I am saying that is not realistic (which is a fact until someone can prove me otherwise). If anything, I am not the one trying to deceive people, it is those who are supporting the S controller who will not respond to the criticizism with more than calling me a fanboy.

I am no fanboy, as you suggest. I am just one of the few people on this board who appreciate the PS2 more than the Xbox. This board is strongly biased towards the Xbox. Even the Mods are strongly biased towards the Xbox as can be seen in their lack of action with you calling me a fanboy. In any other thread no praising the Xbox, you would have been publically warned and the post would have been editted. Of course, since you are praising the Xbox, your post has been left in tact.
Instead of simply calling me a fanboy, why don't you try explaining how a person can work a break and a clutch at the same time with the same foot? We are talking about mass production cars here, since that is what these games mostly consist of. Just explain it and I will agree. Until then, I don't see it as a possiblility.
The Dual Shock is the best controller. For any game. This is why the same form has not changed since its release in 1995. I have used both, and it is clear that the PS2 controller is more responsive and realistic-feeling as compared to the S controller. The rounded buttons alone are enough make this controller come up short compared to the Dual Shock.
When I find a game on the Xbox (yes, I do play Xbox) where I can honestly say it would not feel better with a Dual Shock, I will gladdly admit it. Until then, I will not be swayed by mob mentality.

I like controller S better than dual shock. Way better feel for racing games.
If the PS2 had more support for HDTV and 5.1 it would still be worth it for me to own one, as it is I sold mine and have not missed it a bit, except for R&C2:GC.
I am sure PS3 will be an awesome machine and will sit right next to my Xbox2.
I am curious what the OP has to say about all this and if he has bought anything yet?

If you keep it up, you might get your wish and see some 'action' taken... except you might be finding a vacation coming your way.

I have never bashed the Xbox, I only reveal its short comings. Of course, in the eyes of many on this board, it has no short comings. These are the people I criticize for following mob mentality. I question your tactics by defending them.

If you continue using an automatic, I can't see how you can take videogame racing seriously or how you could have a valid opinion on which controller is better for racing.

Why is this going off-topic to discussions of racing and wussy automatic drivers? I can't fathom why not being a "real" racer invalidates an opinion of which controller is better to use in a video game.
The point made earlier in the thread seems valid to me - a gas/brake pedal combo is analog, therefore the combo is better represented with analog triggers instead of buttons.
I prefer the Dual Shock controller. Although, I just bought an Xbox a few days ago, and the Controller S is growing on me(though I still hate placement of the black/white buttons).
As for the shortcomings of the Xbox....yes it has them, so does the PS2, the GC, and every other system. I will point out that the PS2 is my favorite console due to the expansive game library, but it is also the system with the most shortcomings in this generation, IMO.
