The whole style of it being a "first person action" game is great.
I'm not so sure I agree... for some reason the whole things feels a bit cramped to me. I agree on the AI though, fortunately you get rid of "her" soon enough. The multiple button to do one action thing is a little annoying but overall it's been an enjoyable game so far.

Only a 6.7 rating at IGN. I thought everyone loved this game but then I realized I was getting it confused with The Suffering. Hopefully it's a good game that just got a raw deal/bad rating.

I just got my copy for $19.99 - 10% raincheck. Not bad for a above average game.

I played the game for an hour, and I have to say it's awesome. Totally worth $20. I couldn't stop playing

If any of you guys weren't sure about getting it, I'd totally recommend it

Anyone make it to "F Block" yet? I'm having a problem w/ the freight corridor section
Spoiler:
The floating lights, followed by two warriors and then 3 laser warriors. I can make it past the lights w/o problem but by the time I get through w/ the 2 warriors I'm too weak to take on the other 3 [not to mention they are usually taking pot shots at me while fighting the original 2 since I can't seem to lure them very far through the doorway]

Just wondering if anyone had any words of wisdom/advice

I think I remember where you're stuck at. Don't rush into the group. Hug the left wall and walk towards the first two warriors slowly. You can force them to come to you one at a time. While fighting the first, back away after every attack so you don't attract the 2nd one's attention. Stay behind the wall so the laser T'lans can't attack you. When you go after the laser T'lans, use the slide-uppercut attack. The laser T'lans are much weaker than the melee T'lans and can go down from 2 of these attacks.

Several of the games in their flyer this week are 20% off, so we should be able to easily get a 20% off raincheck good for any video game in the store.

I stopped by the local Target tonight to check out the deal. "Breakdown" was marked $49.99. I asked the dude to scan it (he seemed annoyed...with a "the price tag is RIGHT THERE" look on his face.)

When it came up as $19.99 he just went "huh." I said "That's what I wanted to hear" and purchased the game.

Thanks for the heads up!

Thanks for the help. I guess I just wasn't hitting the right marks before to lure them away (although it did still take a few tries ). Now if I could just get past this $#!
Spoiler:
helicopter

I have to say though the more I get into it, the less I'm enjoying it The multiple button pushes to pick anything up (including the time it wastes when you are being shot at ) and while the "1st person" hand-to-hand is an interesting idea I find it a little disorienting at times (esp when having to take on multiple people). Oh well, it's good enough I'll try to finish it and then it's off to trade in where I can hopefully cash it in for more than the $20 I bought it for

So how long is this game anyway? I'm to the point where you get the
Spoiler:
"ultra-whosewhatsits" (post wake#2 back in the lab where you get the other injection)
and running into a little resistance there I can only hope/assume I'm somewhere near the end. There don't seem to be any walkthroughs online that I've been able to find yet so I'm hoping someone here knows

I am at the same part. It's tough, to say the least. But that's a good thing

I know some people have been able to get rainchecks because the girl that worked there didn't really know. I told her that since the cut price say temporary it will come back to regular price next week or so. She was about to give me a rain check but she decided to call someone

I could've gone in a shooping spree with a couple rainchecks

You're pretty far into the game. Hard to say how much longer you have, as the toughest parts are coming up (yes, it gets harder). If you're having trouble getting past that part, try having Alex distract most of the enemies and you can take them on one at a time. The laser T'lan is annoying, so use your super-jump to care of him first.

yes, it gets harder
Frankly I'm getting kind of frustrated w/ the game as it... I play games to blow off steam/ease frustration, not add to them

Speaking of which I think I'm done w/ this game... I got the "arena" stage and having to restart the whole thing everytime after dying the game has pretty much lost it's fun for me Thanks to the original poster though for the cheap buy tip

BTW I ran across this while looking for cheat codes and/or a walkthrough http://faqs.ign.com//articles/508/508454p1.html it has a list of all the move/attack combinations. I think that might be why I'm having such a difficult time w/ the time I'm pretty much just using the basic jjabs (w/ the occasional long range attack to soften them up first )
