Whats yor favorit game of all time?
|
It's a toss-up between Tokyo Xtreme Racer (DC) and WipEout (Saturn).
Phantasy Star Online (DC) is a close runner-up, but only the Dreamcast version because I liked going on the Japanese servers and using the in-game language to talk with players. That was the coolest! And then there's Powerball (Genesis), an awesome futuristic sports title from Namco. Deathrow (Xbox) could be it's spiritual successor. Jeremy |
I can't just narrow down to one, but for me:
Heroes of Might and Magic III: Shadow of Death [PC] Diablo II: LoD [PC] Rock 'n' Roll Racing [Genesis] Shining Force [Genesis] Final Fantasy Tactics [PSX] Skies of Arcadia [DC] just barely missed the top five, because of the prevalence of random battles and long ways between save points at times. It's #5.00001, however. |
Super Metroid (SNES), no contest.
|
Civilization (PC).
That game nearly ruined my life I played it so much. |
World Series Baseball 2K3 on Xbox!
|
PC: Smallball
Console: NCAA Football 2004 (PS2) |
Most played: Tekken 3, Puzzle fighter on PS1; Mario Kart 64 on N64
Most enjoyed: ICO and SSX3 on PS2 |
Chrono Trigger and Earthbound, for the SNES. Counter-Strike too.
|
Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64) is my favorite game of all time. Most played game probably goes to Warcraft III (PC) or Goldeneye (N64) with Mario Kart 64 multiplayer as a close runner up.
Favorite games this generation: Metroid Prime, Beyond Good and Evil, Prince of Persia: Sands of Time. |
Super Mario All-Stars (SNES)
(okay, that's cheating since it has 5 of the greatest mario games ever made, upgraded and rolled into one package) Otherwise it's: Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (PS1) |
Super Metroid (SNES), no contest.
|
Wow, there's an echo in here. :D
|
Except.. er.. looks like you edited it.
|
Final Fantasy Tactics
|
Diablo II (no contest)
|
Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past on SNES.
|
Final Fantasy Anthology
|
Legend of Zelda (NES)
Tough choice, but so many good memories go into that game. |
Diablo 2 and Age of Empire on PC
Halo on X-box Resident Evil series |
Street Fighter II (arcade)
Metroid Prime |
Final Fantasy III (VI), after playing this one I felt like I'd done something amazing. Great graphics, excellent music, epic storyline, all RPGs in my opinion have been downhill since this masterpiece (OK maybe not all, I loved Chrono Trigger, and most recently Skies of Arcadia.)

Metal Gear Solid
Ratchet and Clank Half Life Roller Coaster Tycoon |
Dynasty Warriors (PS2) 2/3/4
Romance of the Three Kingdoms 7/8/9(PS2) Mario Adv. 1/2/3/4 |
Final Fantasy IV(SNES)
Heroes of Might & Magic III (PC) Chrono Trigger(SNES) Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past(SNES) Baldur's Gate II(PC) Hot Shots Golf 3(PS2) Yah, in that order. :) |
Soul Reaver... vast rich environments, cool storyline, and great characters.
|
Resident Evil 2
|
Old School - Galaga
Recent Years - Tribes2 |
Lucasart's X-Wing (PC) for filling a fantasy I had since I was a kid. But GTA Vice City is a very close second.
|
Diablo Diablo Diablo :)
|
I really can't narrow it down to only one but here are a few of my all time favorites: (not in any particular order)
ICO (PS2) Prince of Persia (XBOX) Ninja Gaiden (XBOX) Final Fantasy Tactics (PS1) Resident Evil Original & Remake (PS1) (GC) Tomb Raider 1 (PS1) Final Fantasy IIV, X (PS1, PS2) Halo (XBOX) Metal Gear Solid (PS1) Legend of Dragoon (PS1) |

1. Halo. Xbox. In this age, the fact that a 3 year old game still is my most played ever says a lot. Amazing single and multi player experience. The huge battle in the snow field at the end of the 2nd to last level is one of the greatest joys in videogame history
2. Final Fantasy VII. PS1. Simply revolutionized the RPG, and I'd never seen anything like those CGI scenes when it came out. Aeris dying 1/2 way through was one of the best video game plot twists ever. 3. Galaga. Arcade. Greatest arcade game ever, 23 years old and still the champ. 4. Zelda: Ocarina of Time. N64. Best RPG game ever. Best Zelda game ever. Light years ahead of it's time. 5. NHL Hockey '94. Genesis. The best game ever to play against friends, until Halo came out. This got me through senior year of high school. 6. Knights of the Old Republic. X Box. Only RPG I've ever played thorugh and immediately started playing again. 80+ hours devoted to this game in a matter of weeks, and by far the greatest Star Wars game ever made. Talk about video game plot twists, the Revan plot twist is maybe the best in video game history. 7. Metroid Prime. GC. While I was tempted to put Super Metroid here instead, I played Super Metroid to completion about 2 months after winning Prime and looking back on it, found Prime to be a better experience. The magnetic wall section to get the plasma rifle is perhaps the coolest thing I've ever done in a video game. 8. Resident Evil. PS1. Unlike anything before it, and still the bets game in the series. The firsat time you see the Stalker coming at you in first person then coming at you slowly down the hall is the most scared I've ever been in my life. 9. Rogue Squadron. N64. The best game in this series was the first, absolutely gorgeous, amazing controls, and played endlessly in efforts to score golds on all levels. 10. Sword of Vermillion. Genesis. Sega's answer to a lack of Zelda franchise, and they created one of the best RPGs ever. The best incorporation of action into an RPG ever. Played this oen through less than a year ago, and still loved it. |

3DO : Twisted and Pychic Detective (yes it's the pinnacle of fmv) I can't believe somebody else had Psychic Detective. I had this for PS1 and played it only a few times. (Tried to play it is more like it) I had the hardest time trying to trade this game in when I did. Nobody wanted it. |
