Eye Toy (ps2)

I have the Eye Toy for ps2, pretty neat gimmick, just a couple questions though?

1) Does anyone know of any upcoming games that utilize this?

2) It a usb cam, so are you able to hook it up to a PC?

1) Eye Toy: Groove should be out soon in the US.

2) It should work. It is made by Logitec, and the headset they made for the PS2 works on the PC.

I noticed today that MLB 2005 allows you to take your picture then place it in the game, and I read somewhere that the next Harry Potter game (Prisoner of Azkaban) is supposed to use it also.

Sony Europe also just held a "design your own Eye Toy game" contest. Can't wait to see the results of that. Eye Toy is tons of fun.

Nice to hear positive reviews for a competitor's product from the competition

I did try connecting the cam to my pc, but it failed because of the drivers which I could not find on Logitech's website.

I also heard that with a lot of games coming out this summer, they will be able to put your face on the main character, or with sports games, they can put your mug on your player.

If they start adding features like this I will definitely pick one up at Costco soon. It's weird though because I remember they were thinking of adding this feature onto some N64 games, and there was huge outcry about people "shooting their teachers and classmates." Did I imagine that? Does anyone else remember this? I think it was about Perfect Dark.

I got one for Christmas this past year, and have only really played it twice. But, both of those times it was a total blast. Once we had about 25 people all crowded around my living room doing the kung foo game. People were removing layers of clothing because they were moving around so much.

I've honestly never seen a "game" get so many people of different ages having fun. We had a huge family dinner a few months back, and even the parents were fighting for a turn with the Eye Toy (two sets of parents went out the next day and bought a PS2 just so they could get an EToy). I have a feeling they are going to tie it into as many games as they can.

My only nitpick; I hate the boxing game. All the others I can't stop playing. Well, I can't stop playing it until someone challenges me to Rainbow Six, Colin '04 or PGR 2 that is.

A video game accessory which leads to clothing removal can be a really good thing... depending on who you are playing with.

The eye toy is party gold. It loosens up a crowd and gets everyone laughing.

Just picked it up, and it was fun playing that Kung Fu game against my brother. I think I may have hurt my shoulder playing it.

It was the Game Boy Camera, and it was going to be used for Perfect Dark.

It's the one game I can really "play" with my 2 yr old daughter. We pop bubbles and wash windows together. If you have a little one who wants to play games with you, absolutely pick it up!

BTW does anyone know anything about that "Max TV" thing that Datel makes? I guess you can use it to send your Eye Toy messages (which makes a lot more sense than just recording and erasing them). I haven't seen it for sale anywhere, though.

Don't feel too bad, after 2-3 hours of straight "Kung Foo" and "Wishy Washy" I couldn't move for about a full day. So...very...sore

How well does the eye toy work with a big screen tv? I have a 55" and I'm wondering where the camera should go.

The most recent issue of the Official Playstation Magazine has a demo disc with some EyeToy goodness on it. Check it out if you have an EyeToy. I still need to pick one up myself.

I have been having a slight problem with the Eyetoy. It seems like I can never get the camera angled right, or know what the right distance is. When I use it, I can't stand too far back, but I feel like the right side never works as well as the left side. You have to wave your hand 500 times over the arrow, but on the left it's so much easier. That's the only annoyance I have found. Brought it out for Easter, and everyone was playing it.
