Please recommend some OBSCURE Xbox games
I just got an Xbox. Can you recommend some somewhat obscure games? I already know about the "big name" games (Halo, Ninja Gaiden, etc.), hence why I worded the question the way I did.
Thanks!
Thanks!

I really liked Battle Engine Aquila, but it didn't get the greatest reviews and I don't know of any other person besides me that's played it.

2 of the most underated games to have been recently released are "Beyond Good and Evil" and "Metal Arms". BG&E is just an excellent adventure/action game with a compelling story to match. Metal Arms is an all out action game from a 3rd person view. From using a vast selection of weapons, different type of levels, driving and even hijacking enemy robots to do your will, I would say it's as good as Halo.
Both games need to be experienced, but unfortunately these sleeper hits are just collecting dust on store shelves.

I'd recommend Circus Maximus too but since it's a racing game I'm not going too
Seriously I thought it was fun but it just goes to show why I hate racing games (since I suck at them
) because I can't get past the first death match in the campaign game
Some other lesser known ones I've enjoyed playing are Pirates: Adventure of Black Kat, and Alien v Predator: Extinction. Kung-Fu Chaos would be high on my recommended list as well.

I don't know how "obscure" it is, but Panzer Dragoon Orta is an amazing, beautiful game that's hard to find now, but cheap. If you like rail shooters, give it a try.

Nothing on the Xbox really strikes me as "obscure", every release seems to get at least a little of the spotlight, unless it's something like Barbie or Aquaman (budget ware)
For me, a game that most people seemed to hate, which I guess would make it "underrated" that I loved was GUNVALKYRIE.
I have an odd taste in games at times, but despite the control flaws, several amazing levels and overall fun/addictive gameplay made me really really like GV. It sort of reminded me of a 3d, 3rd person Metroid at times.

DEATHROW is a rather obscure game in that it got great reviews but didn't sell well at all. My buddy Azel would back me up on this one, right?
QUANTUM REDSHIFT is a great game that also didn't sell well. If you liked the original WipEout series at all, you'll get into this one.
PHANTOM CRASH is probably the definitive obscure Xbox game for console owners. It's perfectly Japanese and combines mech combat with - can you get this - Jet Set Radio?

I'll second Pirates, but I've only played it 2 player, is the single player game any good?

I second Gunvalkyrie. Not sure if these are obscure games but I have a lot of fun with the first Buffy and Serious Sam. Serious Sam is a must if you do a lot of multiplayer and like FPS.

Fusion Frenzy is a little fun multiplayer game when you have a few friends over. Hard to find as it was one of the first X-Box games, but it can be had for $19.99... just too bad it's not X-Box Live compatiable (unlike that piece of shit Whacked!).
Buffy: The Vampire Slayer and Buffy: The Vampire Slayer - Chaos Bleeds are two fantastic third person action/adventure games that has most of the actual cast of the show coming back to provide voices (minus SMG on the first game and minus SMG, Alyson Hannigan, and Emma Caulfield on Chaos Bleeds). Chaos Bleeds can be found on all the consoles, but it works the best on X-Box. You can find the original game new (if you look hard enough, it's rare now) for $24.99 (I found a copy at EB Games) and Chaos Bleeds can be had for $19.99 at GameCrazy (that's where I found it).
Burnout 2 is one of the most underrated racing games of all time. Worth the purchase if just for the "crash" mode alone (try and make a $60,000,000 crash... I dare you).

I'll toss in another vote for Deathrow. It's a shame that it didn't sell better becuase it's a great little party game. I found it a bit dull playing alone, but it is outstanding if you have other people to play with.

I actually own 6 copies of DR now(2 to go). So one day in the not so distant future I'll own 8 xboxes(5 more to go!) with 8 copies of DR for my Game Basement! If you didn't already know It's a fun game with friends and it's xbox linkable. ie. 1-4 ppl per box and 8 ppl total playing, so the ideal Maximum setup is 8 xboxes with 8 copies so everyone has their own screen! You can usually pick it up for $11.99 used at EBgames and like 17.99 at Gamestops used. Phantom Crash is attainable at lots of TRU's for $20-30ish.
