Midway Arcade Treasures 2!!

News is doing the rounds that Midway Arcade Treaures 2 is coming out this year.

So far confirmed games are Mortal Kombat, Mortal Kombat 2, Narc and..

TOTAL CARNAGE!!

Shall we speculate on other games?

I'm hopinh Moon Patrol gets on this one as well as A.P.B. and Gauntlet 2. My friend is really rooting for Wizard of Wor.

..and I love the Xbox Live scoreboard.. still working my way up the Tapper boards.

Saw this over the weekend, and I was thrilled to see Total Carnage listed! Heck, I'm even excited over MK1 and 2 being on the disc.

Moon Patrol would be nice, but at this point, it could be just Total Carnage, and I'd still be all over it.

"You suck at this game!"

Glad to see more love for Total Carnage, and I agree, that alone is the selling point for me. MK1 sucks, but MK2 is pretty good. Narc is fun as well.

But, as I probably put more than $20 into a single TC session back in the arcade days, I have no problems with what will hopefully be another $20 disc here.

I wonder if they can put another 24 games on it? I'm drawing a blank on what other Midway games came out in this period.

Holy CRAP!!! This is great news - I loved the first one, and will pick up the follow up the second I find it.

Well, since the first one isnt completly Midway-only, we could get some Atari games in there too - and lord knows there were a TON of Atari games.

*drools thinking about "I, Robot" and "Planet of the Robot Monsters"*

Oh, sorry. Tuned out there for a moment. I'm better now.

Ya know what would be even better? If they put Marble Madness 2: Marble Man on this thing. Man, that'd be so great.. 3 players.. *dies*

Even though it will never happen due to licensing issues, i wish that Konami would put out an arcade collection with The Simpsons, Ninja Turtles Arcade game, and X-Men. That would rock so hard.

I probrobly pick up the Midway disk. I wish you could play Mortal Kombat 2 over Live. It would have been pretty simple for them to do too.

I would love to play Narc again. It probably isn't half as good as i remember it.

By the way, I was in Babbage's the other day & they had a poster stating you get Midway Treasures Volume 1 free with a pre-order of The Suffering.

Hope this help. I'm sure Stargate well be on it, I see Killer Instinct and Killer Instinct 2 on the list, I doubt it well be on it, still it would be cool if it did.

Stargate is already on Treasures 1 (although I don't recall if they actually called it "Stargate" or "Defender II"...)

Of the games that Bally/Midway did (or liscensed), I could easly come up with 25 games to round out the set. Just off the top of my head, here's a quick list:

* Domino Man
* BurgerTime (I play this one on MAME all the time!)
* Omega Race
* Narc
* Mister Viking
* Moon Patrol (another all time classic)
* Gorf
* Blue Print
* Solar Fox
* SWAT
* Timber (A *GREAT* game, much like Tapper. Must have this now!)
* Two Tigers

I'd love to see these, but liscensing will probably keep them from ever seeing the light of day ever again. Thank god for MAME!

* Journey
* Tron
* Discs of Tron

That would be fantastic if SWAT was included on this disc.

Awesome.
I'll pick this up at $20.

They bastardized Johnny Cage in MK2, but I was unstoppable with him on MK1.
Still, MK2 was a lot of fun and I'm also hoping they include the later versions of MK2 with the 'Animalities' finishing moves.

Bastardized Cage? How? Johnny was my character in parts 1 and 2, and I for one enjoyed his new move set, except the fireball I never really used it. We had this machine at my high school, and my favorite combo to this day is Split punch, sweep, and end with close High Kick to knock them in the air...BUT if somehow they stood up without blocking I'd shadow kick them for good measure. And if I recall MK 2 didnt have animalities MK 3 did. The only "animalities" in MK 2 were Lui Kang's dragon, and Shang Tsung's Kintaro finisher.

ahhh memories..

FIGHT!

I will probably be playing MK2 on the new disc the most... I must have spent at least $100 or more on it at the local pizza shop where I would beat it with all characters and kick the crap out of little kids except for those few who played too much and seem to know everything, even before I knew it. hehe, the memories are coming back.

Kitana ruled on MK2.
You get your fan levitating on somebody, and you could do about 75 percent damage.

I believe there were animalities on MK2, the last revision may have contained them..but I could be wrong.

I know there were babalities, fatalities and friendships.

Are you sure? Im fairly certain that animalities were an MK 3 only thing. Unless this is more urban legend bullcrap like Sheng Long in SF 2.
