wow, all these great games I missed out on. I thought shining force and sonic were going to be the only games worth playing. I think I may invest in the cdx. My sega cd keeps reseting itself because the connection between it and the genesis isn't very good.

I liked the Sega CD alot. Alot of the games WERE just glorified Genesis games. I am one of the few gamers who enjoyed Full Motion Video Games. (FMV) FMV games like Night Trap were totally ripped in the gaming press. It was so neat to me that different things were happenening at the same time. Sure the acting was cheesy, but the controversy over the gore content was ridiculous, as it was a low end PG rated flick. At most. I also liked Double Switch with Corey Haim and Debroah Harry (Blondie)it used the same multiple feed concept that Night Trap had. Batman Returns had great drving sequences and SONIC CD (Mega-CD import) was great.

Shining Force is the best.
I never finished Popful Mail (although I still have it). It was just so cute it kinda made me ill.

I still have a CDX. JVC made them very well and I still use it on occasion. Heck it outlasted two PS2s and an Xbox.

Whoa, now there's a flash from the past. I wish I still had my old system w/ CD. My CD drive eventually died after about 2 years. Such a shame. I loved those FMV games. Sewar Shark and Night Trap were pretty cool. What was that one with Sherlock Holmes? I liked that one too...

Here's an interesting factoid about the Sega CD, and by implication the CDX and the X'eye, as well as the Turbo Duo:
They lack copywrite protection for their media....

All jesting aside, I play Dark Wizard on the computer b/c it is easier than hooking up 2 systems (and adding 2 big AC adapters and countless cords) to the TV just to play it. Plus, I think all my Sega CD memory carts are dead too! Dark Wizard is awesome, and I still play it to this day.

Wait, so there is a SegaCD emulator? Please, point me in the right direction! My SegaCD is the original model and my Genesis has problems recognizing that it's connected. Being able to play my SegaCD titles on my PC would be a real plus.

Im sorry but the Sega CD is mostly laughed and frowned upon and its unjust. They set out to do something different i applaud them for it. Games like Night Trap and Dracula Unleashed are classics, i still revisit them to do this day and everyone else should do the same! (I gotta stop having coffee so late at night)

I didn't see any mention of the Sherlock Holmes game either. The FMV was awful quality but I really enjoyed the game.
