That was pretty good, unfortunately I don't remember much of Contra's music for some reason. Although I might have some tunes in my head but confusing them with other games heh.

That was a really cool interpretation of the Contra theme songs in my opinion. I also checked out the Metroid interpretations...pretty awesome.

Dude, how can you forget?! It was one of those games that had the great music.

My memory isn't so good overall. Also, I have played a ton of games since 1982 so the music gets a little jumbled now and then.

If I heard the original tunes I would most likely know what was though, no guarantee's of course.

Yeah thats my favorite one too and the boss music that accompanies it. I love it, i've heard several guitar interpretations of it and most arrange it in a grunge or death metal fashion, it is very fitting for the composition. My favorite version of that song is the Minibosses version, the tempo, sound, and everything is just right.

I don't know about Contra.. but the Minibosses' Metroid work sounds very bland compared to Stemage at Metroid Metal.

q: what happened to all the cool songs on your site??? i'm glad you got your cd out but you should at least keep your live stuff up there. and what happened to the cool videos and the cover of punch out. and just so i know could you tell me the track list on your cd? and why aren't there all your other songs on the cd too?

a: we only have two songs up right now because all the songs that used to be up are being re-recorded for our next album, which is due this summer. 4 of the videos are still up. if you check the msg board/forum you can definitely get more live stuff or videos there. we don't know the track list for the upcoming cd yet, but the track list for our ep can be found here.

That's pretty cool. Way back when, I was in a band that did some music from Mega Man 2. I remember one was from the Flash Man level, but can't remember the other two we did.

For those of you that like the whole metal/videogame fusion, you should check out S.S.H. No, not secure shell, rather Saitama Saishu Heiki. Check out their website here. There are a bunch of mp3's to dl. Of course most of the music is from japanese games, but the mixes are pretty good.

Heh.. well since most people probably can't read Japanese I'll link one most people will be familiar with for an example:

Final Fantasy VI (FF3 US): Decisive Battle:

Their sound is alright.. a little too "synthy" though.
