just buy a used one, it's built like a tank.
my son accidently dropped his down a flight of wood stairs onto a concrete sidewalk, and other than a few scratches, it seems perfect. gotta love nintendo.
i just bought a game from this guy in the exchange forum, and he seems pretty good to work with. $80 shipped:
