So just to clarify... Lightguns work on tube TVs only? They don't work on Rear Projection tvs? They don't work on Plasma or LCD tvs? Why is that? As I understand, it's not like the tv detects the light coming from the gun, it works a different way. I have a 65" HDTV Rear Projection - It's a Sony and it has a plastic or glass shield on it... So I can't use that? I've held off on the lightgun games cuz of this question. I've never really seen a definitive answer on this that includes the "why it doesn't work..." part.

They work on some older (late 90s/early 2000) RPTVs. Depends on the brand of the gun as well (eg, on the Dreamcast, the Interact guns worked better than MadCatz), but you may have to crank up the brightness and contrast to get it to work properly.

Trigger, yes lightgun only work on crt based tube tv's, there is agun out now for the xbox HOD3 that works(not very well though) for crt base RPTV, as of right now(and alot of insiders beleive) there will never be a gun that will work with a LCD or a plasma or DLP
