So I bought a Gamecube....
I couldn't pass up the Gamecube NFL Street/$10 gift card deal. So here's the question, do I buy a dual platform game for the XBox or the Gamecube? Does it depend on the game or does it always default to the XBox because of the better graphics?

Depends on the game, but I would think in most cases you would go with the Xbox. Really depends on your controller preference. I bought a lot of stuff on the Cube when I had an Xbox because I prefered playing with the Wavebird.
I would think the Xbox would have the overall advantage because the graphics will be a little bit better and you won't need to buy memory cards. Thats a big deal with sports titles.

I just picked up Prince of Persia w/free Splinter Cell (2nd time owning) and I opted for cube over X-box. I prefer the Wavebird controller, I like the GBA connectivity (unlimited health in Prince of Persia and "sticky bomb" in Splinter Cell) and the games look sweet in progressive scan. Online for me is not an option but sports games are better on the Xbox-custom soundtracks and memory issues. Did I say Wavebird?

The only first party wireless controller for any of the Big 3 systems right now, so it's looked upon fondly by myself and other GC owners. Do a search for wavebird in this forum and you'll hear everyone singing it's praises.
It's so much better than tripping over crappy 3rd party extension cables...

I was skeptical about the wavebird after hearing all the praise everyone gives it. I didn't seem like all that big of deal to not have wires.
But then I actually got one with my cube, and I have to say, I am not sure if I could ever go back to a wired controller. The freedom of not having cords outweighs any minor battery drawbacks or lack of rumble. And the batteries last a long time anyways so that isn't an issue, besides AA batteries are cheap.
Trust me, get a wavebird.
As far as multiplatform, its true most games look better on the XBOX, however some games have shown to look better on the cube according to some sources. I believe IGN said Prince of Persia looked better on the cube. I am not so sure about the GBA link, I don't see the appeal of that. But I would go for the control you prefer, if graphics and all else are the same. Unless there are online options, or big save files, then go with the Xbox.

Wavebird rocks.
I usually do a little research before getting a cross platform game. Sometimes they add things to certain console versions. All things being equal, I get the Cube version since I like the controller so much.

Turns out I had a wavebird in the house all day yesterday and didn't know it. The wife borrowed the controller from her friend's kid. I played from under the covers last night with no wires. I need one of those controllers.

I too ended up getting several wavebirds, after hearing the hype. Best controller i've ever used. I am amazed at how well it works. No more sitting on the cold floor, six feet away from the tv for me!

Congrats! I hope you enjoy your new GC here are some recommendations...
A Wavebird, oh hell why not two.
Super smash Bros. Melee
F-Zero GX
Mario Kart Double Dash
Braodband adaptor (optional if you want to LAN Mario Kart)
Beyond Good & Evil
Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
Super Mario Sunshine
Gameboy Player (again optional)
Animal Crossing
Pac Man VS
Viewtiful Joe
Ikaruga
Resident Evil
I-Ninja
Soul Calibur 2
I'd have to agree that it just depends on what your controller preferance is I honestly buy more games for my GC when they are available on all three consoles unless it cant be helped, a good example of this is NBA Street Vol 2. Its 39.99 on PS2 at my store but only 19.99 for GC so it also depends on the price as well.

Ummm...I don't mean to pee on the parade here, but it seems that you overlooked a small thing...like maybe the GREATEST GAME ON ANY CONSOLE EVER!!! I had to read your list twice to make sure I didn't miss it.
So let ME recommend a little game that will keep you up late at night and will literally make your jaw drop on a regular basis just at its sheer and utter perfection...a little game I like to call
Spoiler:
Go buy it now...along with a Wavebird...skip work...slide under the covers
...and thank me later.Seriously, buy it before ANY of the above with the possible exception of Zelda, depending on your tastes.

Eternal Darkness, Luigis Mansion and Super Monkey Ball 2 deserve mentions as well and can be found cheap. Animal Crossing is also a must if you own a GBA (download classic NES games). Play Metroid Prime. Now.

once you get comfortable with the controls, you will be a GOD!!!
that part of the game is just a teaser...the actual game takes place on a planet and is a perfect blend of action and exploration. plus, you only start with a few abilities, which gives you time to ease into it.
i actually found the space station level pretty frustrating as well...
trust me....give it time.
