Dualshock for me. The gamecube's triggers are too small(my fingers overlap them to the middle part where the cord come out of) and the Z-trigger is in a rediculous spot. and the d-pad is terrible. I love the layout of the DS2 with the d-pad above the analog sticks and the 4-triggers.

Personal preference here, but I think the Dual Shock is perfect. It feels comfortable in my hands. Dispite having the most buttons of any controller, they're all logically placed and easily differentated. The two analog sticks, while close together ,are easier for me to manipulate than the off-center ones on the Controller-S. The D-pad is easier to use than either of the other controllers for me. I still find the set-up much easier to use for a game like SSX Tricky (which I have for the PS2) than the much less intuitive set-up on the Controller S for SSX 3 (which I have for the Xbox).
That said, I like the analog triggers on the controller S for racing games. I never felt like I got enough analog reponse from the PS2 buttons.

Just got my Xbox recently and I like the new S controllers better than I do my GC or N64. They just seem easier to hold and dont bother my hands when playing for hours.

XBox Controller S is the king of controllers for me. Perfect size, perfect analog sticks. The only thing I might suggest is two triggers on each side instead of one, but I don't think that is very important.

Finally, I like the original large Xbox controllers, but the S controller is very nice as well. For me, the Xbox controller feels like a Mercedes or Lexus, the quality, reliability, and intelligent design are instantly noticeable, it feels like they will never break, and the extra long cord and breakaway cord is a godsend.

If you wear an XL glove, you will probably like the first XBox controller or the Sega Genesis controller for that matter (one of the worst feeling controllers in my opinion)
I like the GC controller except for the Z-button and the 4-button layout. I don't care for a main, centered button. My thumb feels better resting between the 4, not on one.
PS2 dual shock 2 is the most functionable. The analog sticks and analog buttons could use some work.
XBox S wins in my opinion. I'm glad they redesigned the controller. I know Japan's controllers are purposely made smaller for their small-handed market, but much praise to Microsoft for realizing us Americans aren't all behemoths.

While I still love my PS2 dual shock controller, the Xbox S controller has replaced it as my favorite. Fits great in the hands and the button lay-out is well placed. You can't go wrong with either but the Xbox S is the way to go, imho.

I've never been able to get into the GC controller at all, it looks like Fischer Price designed it, and the buttons are such goofy shapes, like lima beans.
