70 mins to beat Metroid? Wow! The only game I am really really good at is Double Dragon for the NES. I know that game inside and out!
$1!! You are lucky:

I always thought it wasn't that big of a deal myself, but it used to sell for $100.

Yup... the last guy is a "white" Mike Tyson. I think they call him Mr. Dream.

Well.. Mr. Dream was the last guy in the original arcade Punch Out!.. they added Mike in for the NES release, and then I'm pretty sure it was Mr. Dream on the Famicom (NES) in Japan.

Well, here is what I have dug up so far at garage sales and swap meets.

Some of these places wanna charge $15-$18 a piece! Lucky for me the most i have payed is $5 for a title.

I often find alot of old NES systems that are missing parts for around $5-$7 just for the box. Is it worth picking them up and trying to fix them?

I know what the other cover looks like and I have come across it several times but the label is usually torn up, faded or both.

I'll snag it once I come across it.

What makes this one a fake if you don't mind me asking?

According to THIS Metroid was re-released as under the Classic Series banner.

Well, so far so good. I took the advice and suggestions from you guys and this is what I have acquired so far......

I will say one thing....hunting for old NES games is alot of fun. Sometimes it's almost addicting too. I was also lucky enough to come across some video game standups and other advertising goodies.

Thanks for your suggestions, everyone. Any other great games I am missing? I am still having trouble finding Mega Man Games as well as Ninja Gaiden 3...

Most of my favorites were of the two-player variety. I can't believe no one's mentioned Balloon Fight. My brother and I used to wail on each other in that deceptively simple game. Other favorites were LifeForce (which you seem to have), Ikari Warriors, Double Dribble, Blades of Steel, Contra.

Back in the day I had the Master Set with R.O.B. and all of his paraphenalia. Also had the NES Max, which was a good controller, and a vast improvement over the standard brick-like controller, which caused carpal-tunnel after even brief play sessions. A friend had the NES Advantage, which is a great stick controller if you can find one that hasn't been played out.

I have come across all 3 Ikari Warriors Titles but I have passed them up every time. I guess its because I have never played them on the NES. I have played them on the Arcade though.

How good are these games:

Bionic Commando
Commando
Yoshi
Arch Rivals
F-15 Strike Eagle

I also came across Heavy Barrel and Mrs PacMan...both of them were the Black Tengen versions. I sold my Tengen Tetris for a pretty penny since I don't play it much.

I tried to play Little Nemo The Dream Master and I got utterly frustrated! That game is so DIFFICULT! Reminded me of Ninja Gaiden as far as the frustration goes.

I am lacking in sports titles too. All I have is Tecmo Super Bowl. So you say Blades of Steel? Is this one better than Nintendo Ice Hockey? How about Track and Field 2 and Baseball Stars 2?

I'm not gonna repeat any games said by any above, but if you like rpgs, please get Destiny of an Emperor. Its a great RPG that went unnoticed.

If you picked up a 4Score, try to seek out RC Pro AM 2, which is kind of difficult to find now. It's a great 4 player version of RC ProAm, basically. Still fun all these years later. Bionic Commando rocks, by the way....simply a must have. Blaster Master is a really fun game as well, along with Rygar...and they are both fairly difficult.

I've been collecting rare NES/SNES games for a while now, although I don't try to seek out imports or anything that requires a modified console. It is pretty addictive. All of the Megaman games are great, although they can be quite difficult. Cobra Triangle was a blast to play as well...kind of like RC Pro Am on the water, with boss battles! The original Batman game had some cool moments, too.

For those of you who go garage-saling for games, do you have any stratigies? I've been wanting to do this for a while.

I really liked the basic Hockey game that came from NES. One skinny guy and 2 fat guys and I could not be stopped.

My favorites:

* The Legend of Zelda (be careful, the battery is probably no longer functional, although there are ways on the net to replace it)
* Goonies II
* Donkey Kong Classics
* Metroid
* Contra
* Pro Wrestling
* Mike Tyson's Punch Out!
* Ikari Warriors (with 2 players and a-b-b-a)
* Spy vs Spy (a terrible 1P game, but great for 2P)
* Metal Gear
* Castlevania 1/2
* Blades of Steel
* Track & Field 2
* Wizards & Warriors
