I never played Paper Mario or Mario RPG, so would I like this game?

Picked this up Thursday. So far I'm having a blast, yes it's a little on the easy side, but most jrpg's are now it seems. I have 12 hours clocked in at the moment and I'm at
Spoiler:
Oho island or some such
.

It's suprising how much voice they were able to squeeze into the cart and it sounds decent to. If you like old mario games Nickdawgy I would imagine you would most likely enjoy this as well.

That's a rather vague statement.

My 8-Ball says "Rent it if possible and decide yourself."

I put in a few more hours and absolutely positively am loving every second of it. I haven't had this much fun since AW2. I'm at
Spoiler:
the part where you have to break the rock and then go into the tiny holes
. The controls are wonderful, the story is passable, and this is the best of platforming with the best of RPG. They nailed it.

One thing I don't like is that some puzzles are away from a save point so that I'm leaving the GBA on for extended periods of time while I go clear my head and then come back to the game.

Perhaps a vacation from games is in order

I just got this game and I agree, its excellent. Right down to the animation, music, story, everything about it is awesome. And the dialogue and story are actually pretty funny too considering. This is GOTY material here, its a serious contender .

I finished the game last night. Took me 24 game time hours to finish. It was fun the whole time, until the end anyway. After playing all that time you get a crappy ending *sigh* I'm getting sick of these crappy endings in rpg's.

I'm very anal about game endings, I haven't really been impressed with any this gen. I don't like to play a game for 20 odd hours and finally get a substandard ending to a story.

Two hours in and really enjoying it. So far its even better than Paper Mario. If only Super Mario RPG would get released on the GBA.

I need some help please

I'm at Yoohoo, Wahoo, you-know-which-one-I-mean University, at the place with the solar panels.

Spoiler:
I got one of the two set of solar panels working and the door opened and I get to a room with a bunch of closed little areas (with the metal on the floor and the closed doors with bars) and I don't know what else to do. There's another set of solar panels that's not activated. I'm just walking back and forth now

Help? Thanks!

If it's where I think it is, you need to squish Mario. Jump through a little opening on the bottom left closed area I think, climb up to the ceiling and walk around the the top to the other closed areas. Hope I'm thinking of the same place heh.

I thought these two were great too, although I finished Super Mario RPG in one weekend. Kinda had to since I had borrowed it from my boss at the time and wanted to get it back to her. I hope Mario and Luigi takes a lot longer to finish.

Just beat this game today. Was a blast, I'd definitely recommend it for anyone who has played Super Mario RPG or is just looking for a good time on the GBA. I got about 20 hours of play out of it and unlike many games, I always wanted to keep going (unlike Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, Metroid Zero Mission [prob gonna pick that back up next], Yoshi's Island, and the Game Boy Color Zelda games).

I'm very glad I picked this and Mario KartD up to get the Zelda bonus disc, and now I can sell it and recoup what I paid for it (got it on sale at BB for 19.99 after a gamers gift card coupon).

I just beat this yesterday. It was a blast! Fairly easy up until the last boss, which took me a couple days to finally beat, but I did it!

Finally picked this up about a month ago and just beat it. Fantastic game. Probably my favorite game since Metroid Prime (haven't played MP2 yet ).

Some neat "teamwork" in the puzzles and a good difficulty level in that the challenge in bosses came in figuring out how to attack them and dodge. I didn't have any problems with the last boss, beat her on my second try (bad luck on the first). But I was at level 40 by that time and had made a good bit of bean drinks to power up.

You just reminded me that I still need to beat this game. I'm stuck at the last boss and I really don't want to wander around leveling up and collecting beans.

The last boss really isn't that hard. Only one thing took me a while to figure out.

Spoiler:
at the last part, you don't have to have the hands and head gone to attack the heart. You have to beat all those, get in attacks while just the heart is there, however, you can still attack the heart for several turns after the head and hands comeback. Just watch for it to be mostly covered again (then you won't even be able to target it). Just pound the heart with Bros. attacks every chance you get, have a lot of super nuts handy to heal both characters and the battle should be doable even if you're not leveled up as high as I was.

But, as the game had little story, there's not much ending to speak of so you're not missing much if you don't beat the final boss.

But I want that sense of accomplishment. I've pretty much beat every single GBA game I've owned. Final Fantasy Tactics Advanced is next on my list. I still have about 50 missions to go

I've played through it a few times, it's a lot of fun. Expect to spend some time on it, it'll take 20 to 25 hours the first time you go through (to figure out the puzzles you run across, and where you are supposed to go, etc). Just last week I went through it to see how quick I could get through it, knowing where everything was, how to get through all of the puzzles, etc, it took maybe 14 or 15 hours.
