Hey guys,

I just got the XBOX Live starter kit for Christmas...

I hooked it up to the DSL modem, but it couldn't get me connected.

I don't know a whole lot about this and how to do it...I know my IP address...but where do I get my subnet or gateway? Or my DSN number and all of that stuff that needs to be entered into the settings? I understand what IP is, but as for the other stuf...I don't know what they are or where to get them.

can you tell us more about your connection? do you use a router? wireless?

Sure. It is a direct connection--no router. I have the DSL modem connected into the wall jack, and then have the ethernet cable connected from the XBOX to the DSL modem.
