pixy, screw insurance, you NEED this game, plus after playing for 3 days straight (like me), you will be too tired to drive your "real car" ( what the f-50 really isn't mine ) and you will have so much fun racing, against me and ginsu

Y'all are slowly talking me into buying this...
I've already killed my XIII preorder (too many negative reviews). That $39.99 deal at CC on BF is awful tempting.

Skip waiting in long lines on BF and just order it now on EB and save 30%. See the link on page two of this thread or in its own thread in the forum. Comes to $36.98 shipped.

Believe me, this game rocks! I played it offline for about three hours on Sunday. The driving physics are totally fun, pulling off all those power slides for kudos. And there are so many tracks and race variations, it never gets old!

D'oh! This was just added to the MS Retail site and I am still short of points to get it

Oh well, I am sure I will get it eventually

BTW, NHL Rivals, NBA Inside Drive 2004, and Counter Strike were also added for those that are eligible.

I have been putting off buying an XBOX since I sold my last one but this game is tempting me to get one again. Does anyone know if there is going to be any good package deals on Black Friday.

I heard that one of the stores will be adding an extra game with the Xbox bundle for $179 ( I think the store was Target, and the game was MechAssault). Not a great deal, but an extra game is always cool. Then again, you can always check your local Wal-Mart and see if they have any more of the bundles that come with MechAssault and Splinter Cell.

But I'd definitely recommend an Xbox. I have a Gamecube and used to have a PS2 and while all three systems are awesome, I never played any of them as much as the Xbox

I sold my XBOX and PS2 at the same time but I miss my XBOX more than the PS2. I am probably going to buy one on Black Friday with or without a package deal.

hopefully I find a good deal on one

There are too many good racing games that I have yet to play - Midtown Madness, Midnight Club 2, NFS: Underground. Now this. Not to mention all the other good genres out there. Maaaannnnn. I was not planning on getting this game until much later since I don't have time to play it, but the reviews are so good. I might have to get it after all.

I'll put in another good word for this game. It's by far the best experience on Xbox Live that I've had thus far. I played with Ginsu and Sticky Bomb last night and had a blast. This game's implementation of Live is exactly what I had been hoping for since it's inception a year ago. The single player and Live components are meshed together seamlessly. This is a definite must own in my opinion.

Midnight Club 2 is good. It is a real pain to unlock cars though and everyone online already has them. Hard to tell where to go next in races too.

Midtown Madness 3 is crap. You have been warned. Soooooo ugly.

NFS: Underground is awesome. Just picked it up for the PC. No XBox live though for this one.

Bottom line : PGR2 is the only way to go!!!

Go to the www.IGN.com review they say it pretty well.

10.0 Presentation
This game has just about everything you could ask for. Online play, a deep and lengthy single-player mode, mini-games? You can even test drive every car. Yummy.

9.5 Graphics
A beautiful game.

9.0 Sound
The licensed music is great on its own, as are the sound effects. The ability to create custom soundtracks makes this game?s sound as good as your taste.

9.5 Gameplay
Fast, arcade action that requires skill and patience. Easy to pick up and hard to master, PGR 2 has a wide range of driving challenges.

10.0 Lasting Appeal
It?s online, there?s a ton of races, there?s Geometry Wars and downloadable content?and we haven?t even touched the scoreboards yet.

9.5 OVERALL:
(out of 10 / not an average)

This is crap!! I went straight to Best Buy after work and happily picked up Lord of the Rings 2: Extended Electic Boogaloo and Project Gotham 2. I get home and my internet is down. Then I find out that I got 2 disc 3's in my LOTR. Argh. Internet was down ALL night so I ended up just playing SSX until bedtime.

I think some people had problems getting it to work as well, but those issues were ironed out. Try again (and save yourself some time and money!).

Glad to help a fellow DVDTalker out...

When you race on Live, how is the winner determined? By their total Kudos points? or from their finishing position?

Thanks for your help, but I think they must have changd the promotion. The only available Xbox titles now are True Crime and Unreal Championhip (both of which I already have).

Am I missing something?
