Just finished the game last night.... This one has burst into my top 5 games of all time with a vengance... and that top 5 hasn't been breached in a while.
The game just got better and better as it went. The action was fun, the story fantastic, and both work well together to create an immersion factor I haven't felt in a long time. And the ending... !
Anyway, I know most people don't seem to care about story in games, but there just isn't anything better than good gameplay complemented by an immersive storyline.... or should it be the other way around? Its sad that its so rare and overlooked.
Please buy this game so we'll have more like it!

This one has burst into my top 5 games of all time with a vengance...
Famitsu gave it a 36/40
EGM gave it a 5.5
Wow, this got a 1.5 out of 5 in Gamepro.
I just tried playing this and it was unbearable. Glad I only rented it.
The reviews at Gamerankings go anywhere from 0% to 91%. I decided to go ahead and use some store credit to get. No rental, I'm just going to dive right in. I've played about the first 30 minutes and so far it lives up to my expectations, which are that you get to shoot guys and that it's totally batshit insane.

I'm really glad to see some of you taking the chance with this one. Some will love it, some will hate it. But sometimes you just gotta take the plunge to find that diamond in the rough.
I dont think the story is quite as super bizarre as a lot of reviews are saying. I mean, they certainly don't spell everything out for you, but its not any more complex than a similar movie or book. It also has, what was for me, the most satisfying ending ever, that wraps everything up VERY nicely.

Well, I picked it up for 20 at Fry's yesterday (along with Incredible Hulk). I can't believe this game has been discounted so quickly...
Of the five "exclusive" Gamecube games Capcom announced ages ago
http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=250735
Resident Evil 4: great game, coming to PS2, but the only "hit"
Viewtiful Joe: great game, came out on PS2, but seemed to be discounted in the states pretty quickly... did this one sell well? Popular enough in Japan to get a cartoon (which is also coming here)
Dead Phoenix: cancelled?
P.N.03: from all accounts (to be fair, I never picked it up), it's crap
Killer 7: came out on PS2, down to 20 bucks on sale after a month
This is just going to discourage them from trying different things, I'd think. Or maybe all of these did much, much better on the Japanese market?
