Good thing i'm an open minded individual who won't let the music spoil the game for him. I've had to sit throug 20 years of $hitty rock/techno/pop music in games, but still found a way to remain an avid gamer...

The game looks GREAT but I'm a bit put off by the soundtrack. Blech. I hope there's a way to turn it off w/out having the game be silent (like SSX3's choice of music or ambiance). Definitely will get the game, though...

Ditto....I love all kinds of music anyway but to let music dictate whether or not one plays a game is ridiculous. If it really bothers one that much...most games allow you to turn the music down. I am looking forward to this title.

well, id get the game, if socom 2 wasnt coming out 3 days after. and i only have enough for one game, and socom 1 lasted me a whole year of playing. so im gonna have to go with my all time favorite game, and go with socom 2 over true crime.

I don't know about other systems, but I hear the Xbox version is being delayed a bit due to it not passing certification cuz it had too many bugs. GTA3/Vice City did pass, however - and it's on track for November still.

Bah!! How long is it being delayed? I might just get the Cube version if it's a big delay.

So where did you hear this from? I honestly doubt it would be delayed when it is still showing on track for a November 4th release, but stranger things have happened.

My friend who works for MS told me this a few hours ago - he said it was news last week (meaning this week). He didn't say how long the delay would be. He sounded pretty sure and even had the specific numbers of bugs for both True Crime and GTA. I think he said GTA had like 8 and Vice City had 9 or 10, but that True Crime had more than both of those combined. Maybe they'll put it out anyway even with the bugs in. *shrugs* that's all I know.

I don't know how many of you know this, but over at GameFAQs on the PS2 True Crime board there is a thread called "G'head ask me anything about the game" started by alexdagreat. The thread (currently) is 35+ pages long, and features alexdagreat answering anything you could hope to ever know about the game. It's up to you to believe him or not, as he claims to be the friend of a journalist who obtained a copy that is 90% complete, and has played it extensively. If it matters at all, I'm one of the biggest skeptics on the planet, and believe alex 100%. In short, this is a summary of what he says to be the major pros and cons from the game.

In all he believes that True Crime is a better game than GTA3 and Vice City.
ya i read that and in one of his posts he said that GTA3 came out he took 2 weeks off of work. oh my god that is retarded. whats he gonna do when True Crime comes out, take maternity leave and breast feed the game?

he also said that he already has a real atlas map of LA tacked up on his wall with certain things marked on it of areas of interest.

He certainly has a great deal of time on his hands, but still he was (and is) very helpful...

For those that have pre-ordered online before, which stores ship as soon as the item is in stock, or at least usually delivers the game by the release date?

For those of you with a FYE near, there is an in-store ad with a coupon that makes True Crime only $39.99 when pre-ordered. That's the best deal I've seen for it so far...

I am either getting GTA3 or True Crime when they come out on xbox on the 4th. Which one do you guys think is going to be better? IGN talked up True Crime and I have to admit that playing as snoop dog is an awsome addition. Music doesn't bother me at all.

Get the GTA double pack. You get two games for the same price as True Crimes.

GTA pack is better for 2 games instead of one, and it has proven itself. True Crime has yet to releases so we don't know if it will live up to the hype. I am hoping it will, as I am looking forward to it.

IGN has given True Crime a 9.0, even though it was a fairly negative review. The way they complained about it for four pages, I was shocked to see that it had earned an overall score of 9.0... By the way, the release date has seemingly moved up one day to the 3rd.

I didn't find the review to have a negative tone to it at all. The only real complaints were the camera and clipping issues. Another minor complaint was that there is not enough traffic. If the game had real LA traffic simulated, it would probably take hours just to complete one mission. Not much fun to sit in bumper to bumper traffic in a game.

If you live in LA like I do, you almost have to at least rent this game.

GTA may be 2 games for the price of 1 but I think this title will be quicker to drop in price than True Crime. I want both but I think GTA will be down to $40 or less after Christmas. It will sell well, but you are still talking about 2 games that have been out over 3-4 years.

I'm still on the fence. Not sure which to get.

I think I'd rather use the standard $5 coupon.
