More BB penny guides
Went to BB and they had a few penny guides they had Zelda Wind Walker, Tomb Rader Angel Of Darkness, Kingdom Hearts, and Enter The Matrix. I got like 4 copys of TR and Matrix and one Zelda but no KH for me
So does anyone want to trade me a KH guide for one of the above I also can trade Brute Force guide and Donkey Kong country for GBA guide.
Opps forgot to add if anyone just wants me to ship them a guide and pay me for shipping that is fine too.

Last Friday, I had a BB employee scan all of the guides and Zelda was a penny but Matrix and Kingdom Hearts still scanned at $14.99. I guess they dropped the price over the weekend. I also picked up Splinter Cell and Wolfenstein for a penny. Thanks, I'll check it out again.

I'm sorry, I'm a little confused.
Are you guys actually saying that some of the $15 game guides (walkthrough magazines), those cool mags with all the glossy pages and detailed walkthroughs with many screen captures, can be had for a measly 1 cent!?!?!?!?
As in $0.01?!?!?
If so, that's simply amazing!! Why/how would Best Buy do this?
Seems like it'd be very big losses. Are they misprices, or actual markdowns?
Do I just walk in and grab the ones I'm interested in and ask someone to scan them for the prices?? (There're at least 5 I'd snatch up!!)

They was I understand it is that:
For some reason when the guides no longer sell it is cheeper/better for the store to sell them for a penny then to Ship them back to the manufacturer. That would cost more money plus they want the guides out of their inventory. Also I think the guides have a high markup, they are not hard to make so if they sell like 20 and give away 5 they are still making money.

Speaking as someone who helped make one of these guides, I can attest that they are NOT easy to make. I was hired freelance by Prima to construct a world map of every screen in Link's Awakening DX for their guide. Using an emulator I had to play the game all the way through and painstakingly take a screen capture of every locale (and thus make an overall world map, dungeon maps, and several others). I also had to remove Link from each shot, which meant making sure he was on a easily replicated surface when I took the shot. Then it was a matter of copying a bit of the ground that looked the same and pasting it over him, lining up the pixels so it looked as though he was never there. Fun.
I think I got $500 for the job. They wanted me to do another game but I was so exhausted by the end of that one I turned it down.

An employee told me that at that particular store (Decker: The one on Rainbow and Lake Mead
) whenever they get them in they send them back because they lose money on them, so they don't even put them out in the floor.

I couldn't find any KH guides. I've brought that guide to the check out window like five times in the past b efore the price drop, too
But on the bright side, I found out that Ghost Recon : Island Thunder guide is also .01. The game is only $14.99 at the 2 BBV stores I've visited as well, BTW.

That one. The GR : IT guides are out on the shelves. They probably don't realize that they're only a penny.

GGGRRRR
Best Buy. I'll go in a couple of hours and pick it up. How can you tell which ones will ring up at 1 penny? There's no self-price check terminal.

I just grabbed all the ones i was interested in and went to the register w/ them. I asked the cashier to price check them for me. The ones that were $.01, I took, the others i left.
I snagged, Zelda:WW, F-Zero, Matrix, and TR.
I think i tried GR: IT, but it rang up at 5 or 10 bucks or something.
I'm going again today to a BB near my office in hopes to find Splinter Cell and Kingdom Hearts.
Much thanks to the original poster! I don't even own some of these games, but if/when they drop in price, I'll have the guide already!!
Thanks again!!!
