Thats whats I love about Penny Arcade, they don't cater for the mass media joe-schmoe gamer and won't ever. PVP was ok, but they've run out of ideas since they started taking jabs at Penny Arcade, i've seen 2 comics like that so far and both from them and both weren't that different from each other.

What does catering for mass media joe-schmoe gamer mean? If you write a joke, it should be funny.

Must be one of those insider geek type things. Only the most hardcore get most of them, thus they're only funny to them.

Yes, but not as funny as some of their other work. Fruit ****er and Clawshrimp come to mind. Even Divx. You have to really keep yourself educated in gaming news to get some of the comics, but if you are, they provide amusement 3 times a week.

Back on topic, any more reviews of the N-gage? Tycho said that they talked to some local retailers who sold around 3 units.

Are you serious? Cartoon jokes are far from universal. If you don't know anything about a policitian, or world events a political cartoon you read isn't going to make sense at all. Likewise, if you don't know anything about video games you probably won't get most of the jokes at Penny Arcade.

... back on topic... How about that N-gage? Woo.

What does everyone see the N-Gage as (not as a POS, but a phone or gaming device?)

I think most see it as both, or more specifically, as a poor attempt to integrate the two together as it's poorly designed both as a gaming platform and a cell phone.

Primarily it's got to be a gaming system. That's how it's marketed (extensively). Certainly, there are a lot better, cheaper mobile phones on the market so the gaming aspect has to be their focus.

I don't see the point in getting two half-assed products in one. I will stick with my separate whole-assed products.

Actually, more like the spork of the gaming world. It works and all, but deep down, wouldn't you really have a fork and a spoon?

Wouldn't the spork analogy work better if said spork was only half the size of a regular spork, and you had to hold it with your feet to properly use it?

futon - By day an uncomfortable couch. By night, and even more uncomfortable bed.

So we should make our in-laws use N-gages (n-gagi?)? I'm so confused.

Yeah make them use them while sitting on the futon and eating with a spork. That should get rid of them for good.

Decker's right on the money! the Spork of gaming!

So if the e-gage is a spork, what's the new PSX?

EB has sold 100 N-Gages on the first day. Total. In the entire US.

That can't be true though. It has to be in the thousands. Even the 3DO sold better than that.

3DO was a better system!
