I'm probably going to get crucified for this one. Nothing has really blown me away this year. Seems like the best games came out at launch or shortly after for each system. I just can't seem to pick a game of the year yet. I actually could not get into KOTOR which everyone seemed to love, the game just bored me since it isn't the type of game I enjoy. I think the game that really surprised me was NBA Street 2, really turned out to be a lot of fun for multiplayer as someone else said. I also never played the first one so I guess that's why it surprised me. There were a lot of good games, but nothing I thought that really stood out as GREAT! I'm suspending judgement for game of the year until the end. I'd have to say I've been disappointed with this year so far. A lot has come out for each of the consoles but a lot of them just seem half a$$.

KOTOR.....for right now. I must say this is the most fun I've had playing an RPG since Baldur's Gate 2, maybe even since FFVI. I say for right now because Final Fantasy Tactics Advance will be released this week and I have high hopes for this title. If it lives up to my expectations then it will probably replace KOTOR as my game of the year.

Zelda: The Wind Waker. Its one of the best games that came out in the last 5 years. F-Zero GX is owning me right now and I love it but for Best overall its Zelda hands down for me. I've been itching to play through it again recently.
However, there's a lot of big games that haven't been released yet.

Right now I would say The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker(although it was to easy). And I see KoToR as a very very distant second. There's no way a game with game stopping bugs should ever win game of the year. KoToR even has it's own bug/glitch faq at www.gamefaqs.com for goodness sake.

A tie between Zelda: WWW and KOTOR. I'd give both 9.5's. There's a few games I'm looking forward to still to come (Rouge Squadron 3, MGS Twin Snakes, Mario Kart, ROTK, etc) but I kind of doubt any will beat them.
Soul Calibur 2 has a chance. I haven't played it enough to rate it yet though.
