Advantages to game stores (specifically the reservation policy):
Free gifts for pre-order (in the case of SCII, Art Book and Lithograph)
You don't have to hunt around for a copy
Recieved the game tuesday the 26th rather then thursday or friday like BB or CC.
I'm not trying to say that it doesn't make more to sense in some cases to get the game at BB or CC (especially with the $10 gift cards CC was giving away), but I'm just presenting some arguments as to why someone would shop at a Gamestop or EB rather then a non-speciality retailer. Its unfair to say that there is NO advantagea to shopping at a speciality retailer, because quite obviously there are some. Now to many people, saving $10 is better, but to some, experienced staff, free stuff, and early games are a better incentive.

I get that pre-orders arent always a neccessary, but if you go to store A and they dont have a game you want, and the guy behind the counter suggests you pre-order a game next time, I dont see thepoint of coming home to the internet to bitch about it. Sure Best Buy and a lot of other major electronis stores may stock the game your local EB, GS, or GC didnt so that doesnt mean you have the right to complain. Im trying to say is if you want a game dont just go to one store and complina because its not there. Hell my store didnt get Disgeya so I HAD to hunt it down.
