how do you know if the guide is marked down to a penny? is there a sticker on the guide or the shelf advertising the new price?

I've seen both...but most of the time the guide is stickered at one cent. Also, go around and check the guides they stick behind the actual games.

Usually at my Besy Buys, the guides never show to be a penny. I just occasionally find the ones I am interested in and then have them run a prcie check. If they ring up for a penny, I buy them. Of course new game guides are never a penny but if the game has been out a couple of months, I always price check them.

Hit the local Best Buy today looking for the Dark Cloud 2 guide, but no dice.

at the store i used to work at, i bought a bunch of them one time. i got into trouble b/c i was going to give them to my friend who owned a game store. the manager went off the deep end b/c you aren't supposed to buy something w/ a discount and then give it away. i was their best employee at the time, so they let it slide, but from then on, anytime there were markdowns like that, they sent them back to corporate. I ruined it for the customers.

I know it wasn't on the list that FlashStash posted, but if you guys come across a Grand Theft Auto: Vice City or Kingdom Hearts guide grab one for me..?

Aren't these two still normal price (15 bucks?) I remember doing a price check on those two a couple of weeks ago...

Ran across a better deal than a penny...

The BB I went to just put all the penny guides on a shopping cart, and labeled them as "Free, please take one." Unfortunately, there were only 3 kinds left. So I only grabbed Def Jam Vendatta and Zelda: Ocaria of Time, because I didn't want to appear too greedy. But, you can't beat free!

Anyway, this also means that Zelda: OOT and Tenchu guides have also hit a penny.

Ooh, I forgot about Technu, it was one cent too at my store, didn't pick it up though.

By any chance did you pick up an extra Dark Cloud 2 guide? I would love a copy and would of course reimburse your shipping. I started that game, and then it started to kick my a$$ and I could certainly use the help. If not, it's certainly no biggie.
