grrr..
ya know, there I checked Best Buy when the thread stating those guides were a penny, but when I went there they were $14.99. i've now reached the conclusion that my Best Buy blows chunks.
thanks for checking gcribbs. 'preciate it.

Did you get them to do a price check on the guides? I remember when there was a thread made back in March on 1 cent guides. Most of the guides I got had a $14.99 price tag but rang up 1 penny at the counter

At my work (Gamestop) guides are often pennied out, but they are then summarily thrown in the trash. Dunno why they just don't have a box for penny guides or something, cause someone would probably buy them.

Just picked up guides for Tenchu, Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and Yoshi's Island. They also had one for Everquest Online Adventures, but that's not a game that interests me.

Why not just give them away? Are they obligated to NOT sell these guides at a loss? I would think that it's good PR moves if you give freebie guides to customers, especially someone that just picked up a system or a bunch of games...

If a store put all of them in a rack/box marked as such, I'm sure they'd sell a bunch at more than a penny and at least recoup some of their costs.
