I tell you what. If you were against the policy go shop at EVERY OTHER STORE!!!!!! This was the only remaining store that let you exchange a game you did not like. If you are unhappy with that policy you have every other frickin store in the country and online to buy from that will not let you return a game you dont like! The policy hurt noone and helped many. And yet some people bitched? I do not even buy used games that are not perfect but I could care less about the plastic on the case. Ship all games, CD's and DVD's without it for all I care. I hate opening the damn things. I know some of you would be mad at the possibilty of someone else seeing your disc naked but as long as it is in perfect condition, all is fine by me!

Guess which of those products I rarely buy anymore? It's too much money to plop down on something essentially sight unseen without the ability to return it if it sucks or doesn't work properly.
Amazingly enough, I was able to return a crappy CD at Best Buy. It was a Ken Burns' Ella Fitzgerald Jazz collection CD. I bought a copy and it sounded horrible... hissy, probably the worst sound quality I've ever heard on a CD. I thought it was just something wrong with the one disc, so I returned it for a different copy, and got the same problem with the other disc. I took it to customer service, and told them (in so many words) that it sounded like crap. They popped it in a CD player they had in the store, listened to it, agreed, and refunded my money. I was pretty shocked.

Unfortunately, this sort of thing is the exception, not the rule.

It's hard for me to consider it "abusing" the policy because that's the policy. When they set it up they knew that people would return things because they didn't like the game as opposed to it being defective. If the company didn't take this into account before implamenting the policy then I've got a nice piece of land that they might be interested in.
