Nope, it is $39.99 in Phoenix but I won't cry about the $2 difference if this game is as good as it looks.

I made the mistake of watching a buddy of mine play this when he came over tonight. I was bored to death watching him fight and equip stuff and I stopped watching him after a bit. My interest in this game is way lower now but I'm still curious. He's realy busy so I'm going to wait a bit and then ask him to borrow it.

This is now my favorite game, EVER!!!! I was up till 5:30AM last night. I played 10 hours straight, which I never normally do.
It took the the love of this game, the star wars universe and the force to keep me awake.

dgc, I was the same way though not as bad as you. I got home and started playing about 10:30 and played till I fell asleep. This game fixes everything I hate about RPGs. It is not slow paced, you don't need to stop between turns in combat, and it has a great flowing feel to it. This is my new favorite game too!

Heh heh heh. Another one bites the dust.
I played only from 7pm to midnight last night because I couldn't keep my eyes open. I'm used to going to sleep by 10pm at the latest and getting up at 6:30am. Well, now I'm off to play some more. Too bad I have to go to a BBQ today at 4pm.

awesome game. I logged 2.5 hours last night, and I'm up to level 4. I'm playing the light side right now, so I even give away my credits (always get light points that way). I just made it to the lower city. I was having too much fun playing paarzaak or whatever the card game is called. And Two-Fingers better watch out, I've got a vibrosabre to kick his ass with now.
Anyone else catching the jokes about Greedo shooting first? I've noticed at least two references to it.

OK everyone (like anyone cares), I may be crazy, but I went out today & bought an X-box JUST for this game, so I hope it lives up to the hype. Especially since I doubt I will ever buy another X box game.

After my bitching about the combat controls I convinced myself to pick this one up after all of the reviews here. So far so good, I have been playing with the auto combat mode which I like. I have only logged 2 hrs so far. I price matched the Fry's add at Best Buy and used my $20 gift card I got for father's day. So 20 bucks plus tax was not a bad deal at all for this game.

I like rpg's, but I tend to get bored with them very quickly. Not the case here...I played nonstop all through the weekend and can't wait to get back to it this evening. I knew I liked it as soon as I popped it in my xbox, but after executing a force stasis followed by a slash and a critical strike on a Mandalorian using my Jedi wielding dual sabers, I fell in love.
Is it too early to say it? I don't think so...best rpg ever.

I didnt take all of the missions. I still logged about 43 hours so far tho.
DEFINATELY lots of replayability. there were plenty of avenues that i chose not to go down. Not just Light/Dark type decisions. I didnt do much gambling or Swoop Bike racing this time thru for example.

I abandoned my real life for this game. been a long time since ive been this addicted
Im ignoring some of my girlfriends phonecalls and even called in sick for work once. Ill be ok once i get it out of my system... somehow. This game has TONS of story tangents. Each of your characters in your party has a history that you can explore and help with or take advantage of and manipulate (dark side!). Theres really no way you can explore all the avenues one time thru.

Played this for a few hours last night.
For those of you who have finished the game and are looking for something similar, I recommend Neverwinter Nights (also by Bioware). It utilizes the same engine, and the same game system (d20), and plays very similarly to Kotor. Plus it has multiplayer and an editor.
That said, I prefer Kotor's storyline (so far) and the graphics are a bit more refined as well. And roleplaying in the Star Wars universe is great fun over the usual D&D setting.
I would love to see an expansion pack to Kotor that incorporates the same editing and multiplayer tools utilized in NWN.

I wonder what the fastest time through the game would be if you didn't do any side quests, kept the dialog to the absolute minimum, and played on easy.
I may have to try this on my third time through. I need to finish my first time through as a light jedi, completing most of the side quests and dialog, and playing on default difficulty. My second time through will be as a dark jedi, completing some side quests (mostly dark side ones) and being rude to almost everyone, probably on default difficulty. Then I might try to finish the game in under 24 hours on my third time through.

He did not do all of the side quests and played as soldier on easy mode.
