I'm actually thinking of building my own cabinet. I finally found something that'll let you have 2 seperate JAMMA boards in one cabinet on a switch and it's about time I create my Namco Classics vol 1 and 2 deluxe cabinet, with subwoofer!

Here's the other "toy" in the dining room:

Perhaps someday we'll have a table and chairs for "dining" but for now this is fine by me.

Just from the picture it looks probably about 4 ft tall? If you buy one, it may come with a game, but you can buy the games off ebay.
Samurai Showdown 2 with marquee for 59.99
Samurai Showdown 3 for 25.00
Fatal Fury for 25.00
etc etc etc. Those are just the buy it now prices as well, you could get it for cheaper. Some games i.e. Metal Slug 4 will run you $$$$$ but most other games can be had for cheap.

Holy crap I want one of those. I think I'm going to try and get one. But I need to find out the shipping charges first. Does anyone have a mild idea of an estimate shipping one from California to Kentucky? I tried to get an estimate from yellowfreight or whoever ships with them and they needed me to register with some special number that I don't feel like doing the extra work to acquire right now. So I'm asking you guys....
I'll probably get one of the ones in the 400 dollar range, like the Candy Neo 29. *foam*

Sounds like a sweet friggin deal. But....is there a huge selection of games out there for these things? Does anyone know of a list? I know you've got the standard Neo Geo and SNK games...but what about Capcom and Sega and Namco? I don't want to pick one up and only play Metal Slug.

Well.. since it's a JAMMA compatible cabinet, almost any game past 1986 will be playable in the cabinet. All you would do is swap out the motherboards. Things to look out for are game that use more than 6 buttons, as standard JAMMA only has 4 (games that use more usually are JAMMA, you just wire the addtional buttons to the board).

I had one of those Neo Candy cabs but Yellow Freight crushed it....so I ordered a Capcom Impress Cabinet 29. Here is the thing though. If you want to run Neo Geo boards on your cabinet you need to get a Neo Geo ready cabinet. Eventhough its Jamma standard, the Neo Geo MVS board runs stereo sound off of the jamma connector. So basically, if you stick a Neo Geo MVS board into a regular non neo geo cabinet the sound will be quirky. You can easily modify your cabinet to be able to switch back and forth between stereo and mono.
I got frustrated with this and just ordered one of the SNK Mini Neo cabinets for my wife since she is the one who loves the titles from SNK more than I do. I have the Capcom Impress Cabinet for myself. I used to have a ton of CPS2 boards but I sold them all. I am getting a Console to Jamma converter so i can play Xbox, PS2, and DC on my cabinet...all plug and play!
Before that, I owned a regular Dynamo Street Fighter 2 Champion Edition Cabinet(Yes, the big wooden American one) and it was fun and all but it was just too darn big and heavy!! Moving it was a nightmare(it almost crushed me when moving upstairs!).
Getting a Japanese cabinet was the best thing I ever did to satisfy my arcade addiction. They are lightweight(Made of steel and plastic), very mobile(you can tilt them back like a dolly and roll them around since they have wheels!), the panels are easily accessible, and the buttons/joysticks are FAR superior to US standard sticks and buttons. Oh, and not to mention that the monitors on these things are SO much sharper and more colorful than any US monitors I have seen(with acceptions to the newest arcade titles here in the states).
If you are thinking of getting one, dont think.....just get one. You'll love it!

Does that cabinet you have, come with that board you plug in the neo geo catridges? I ask, simply because I see this one:
Candy
It looks like it's missing that part, I'm not going to think about buying it for that much, just wondered, and also, wondered if you you had to buy it, where you picked one up like that. If it's just standard jamma, you can connect it directly to the cable?
Thanks for the info.
