The worst games you have ever played
I'm bored again, so I figure I'd pick everyones brain about the worst games they've ever laid eyes on...
For me, it's easy: .hack this was simply the worst game I have ever played. I got rid of it the second day I had it. Alot of people liked it, but I just coudn't get into it. Another one would be: Dead to Rights This was good, yet so disappointing that it qualified as one of the worst. |
Final Fantasy VII
Final Fantasy VIII Final Fantasy IX Final Fantasy X Final Fantasy X-2 Oh wait you said GAMES, not movies.. my bad.. I've played a lot of stinkers but for some reason (or the 5 reasons above) I'm having trouble thinking of any names. While maybe not the worst, Wipeout Fusion was ranks up there. What went wrong? |

There are many but recently it is the Woverine game. I shudder at the thought of being a tester for that crappy game.

freekstyle...
terrible, just... terrible. |
Originally posted by pixyboi Nightmare Creatures 2 Other stinkers: Re-Loaded- I enjoyed the first but the second was far too easy and repetitious. You can say the same about the first but I really got into it :). Maybe it was the Pop Will eat Itself Soundtrack. Blasto- Terrible platformer. The only redeeming thing was Phil Hartman's voice acting. Any Bubsy game- I wish that someone could explain the appeal of Bubsy. The first had bad control issues and seemed like a third rate Sonic/Mario (although you can say that about most of those old school mascot platformers). |
Vandal Hearts II is the worst game I've ever finished. Turok: Evolution and Bloodrayne are the worst current-generation games I've played.
I really doubt that the worst game anyone here has played belongs to the current or even the last generation of consoles. As bad as some games are today, they're still really expensive to make, unlike the load of cut-and-paste licensed platformers that were shoveled onto the 8-bit and 16-bit systems. Some of those games were absolutely unplayable. |
I think ET on the Atari 2600 is a tough one to beat. There may be other bad ones, but not as high-profile as this one.

DOA Volleyball probably is at the top of my list (for most recent).

Just about any Batman game, but I keep trying.

I'm currently suffering with "Sesame Street Sports" for the PS1 that I bought for my daughter for $8. It was at least $18 too much :) The characters move like they're stuck in mud and constipated. I really get the sense that the game programmers felt as long as they had the characters, it didn't matter to kids if the game was even playable. My daughter would certainly agree with that sentiment unfortunately
The one new game I'm curious about is Auto Modestella. The designers spent a lot of time working on that game and released it in Europe months before the US. In the interum they added online play but still didn't fix the fact that the racing model apparently sucks and is almost impossible to play. How on earth did that happen? |
Originally posted by pixyboi Hmm.. well that's where the wonderful world of opinions come in. Just because a game is expensive to make does not mean it is good or has any merit to it. It's going to depend on the individual's preception of what is fun and entertaning. I would rather play the worst platformer of all time, Super Pitfall, than to stare at my TV screen with my mouth hanging open drooling on my unused controller as generic anime characters spout off endless dialouge from rejected scripts from "How to write an anime plot for Grade Schoolers." that is found in some of the most highly praised Playstation games. Another funny thing about discussions like this is that people tend not to remember the worst game they've played but the worst game they've played that they were expecting more from or was highly touted as a great game from other people or reviews. Those things stick out in people's minds much more and tend to be what they consider the worst. |

Originally posted by remjim I don't mean to sidetrack this thread but the first NES Batman is pretty good. There's also the animated series one on the SNES. Anyway, back to our scheduled programming... |

Originally posted by pixyboi Isn't that the cel-shaded one? I was really hoping that would've been a good game, I thought it LOOKED cool. Oh well.. I'm tempted to rent it just to gaze at the graphics, but not at $6 a rental, that's for sure. |
I bought Auto Modellista. The graphics are great, but gameplay is absolutely terrible. It really does feel like the road is covered with a sheet of ice when you're driving.

It's been out in Japan for a while now, and I have a handful of friends that are retarded for the series who like to import. |
