Man this thing is slow. 234 hours left with a broadband connection!! Average download speed seems to be about 2kB per second. Right now it's on zero though. I thought a lot of people had this file and thus the download would be fast???

the difference is that with Bittorrent, you don't have anyone leeching off without contributing. Its based on a P2P system where you are sharingthe stuff you already downloaded with others while you download the needed pieces from others who are a bit ahead of you.
It's almost the perfect system for P2P since no orginization can really track who has the file open or where it came from. As long as someone is seeding it (has it open for others to download) then you can get it. Makes it harder to track down. Not to mention that with the method that you have to share it while you are downloading it, it makes it easier to download items. If the file is popular enough then a lot of folks are downloading it at any given time which increases your speed of downloading.

yeah, mine started out really slow at first, then it picked up to around 30k/sec... not the fastest, but its easy to just set it up then forget about it, then just come back later and its done

Beyond the awesome technology powering it (first time I've been truly awed by a game in a long, long time), did you notice how gorgeous the art direction was? They're in a real-world-looking city and yet it is more visually attractive than most fantasy "imagination's the limit" settings in other games! It reminded me of how a city or real world location would look in a big budget Hollywood film. You know, with the extremely handsome cinematography and striking locales making everything look a bit better than it really is. The colours, lighting, and Euro-ish architecture combine to look so incredibly movie-like.. Wow.
