I believe the cinematics were some of the best ever made. Too each his own.

Can't wait for this remake. Loved MGS1. I hope Silicon Knights can deliver.

As for the Splinter Cell comparisons, I greatly prefer the MGS series core gamplay to it. There's just too much trial and error, go ten feet get caught, start over, try it a little different, make it a little further, get caught, repeat ad nausem, gameplay in Splinter Cell for my tastes.

There's some of that in the MGS games too, but with the Radar it really takes the guess work out of sneaking past people.

Splinter Cell just felt more like work than play to me, and I play games soley to relax and have fun. It's a fantastic game for what it tries to be, it's just not my cup of tea.

Splinter Cell was great....as far as Substance, I never played it. I can't see paying another 40 bucks to add a few features to basically the same game.

So let me get this straight. Does this mean that two games are going to come out for GameCube, one remake and the other new?

Sweet, now I don't have to find Bleemcast for my DC.

I just hope MGS is priced right. There's no way I'll pay $40 for a 5 year old game and one I already own for the PSX.

They charged $50 for the Resident Evil remake, which was also about 5yrs old. I imagine this will probably cost the same.

I won't be buying this one since I've already played through the original, and there'll be plenty of other games to occupy my time.

MGS3 Baby!

Now this is what I'm talking 'bout! This is the new shiznit... Sorry I just had to say that. Granted I expect a lot of posts after this to joke about how it'll probably be one long cut-scene etc. but I'm gonna get it for sure. Not sure what platform(s) it's coming out for though. I thought the story in MGS2 was pretty interesting actually and was fairly well thought out and had depth to it. If you didn't "get it", that's another matter all together. The cut-scenes were overbearing at times, but they did add suspense and thicken the plot. I still really enjoyed the game.

Also I'm not sure I "hated" Raiden's section so much. Sure he was whiny but he played almost the same as Solid Snake. Plus I try not to get too emotionally attached to my VG characters if I can help it.

The Franchise ... you complete me.

In a totally platonic way. But you know what's up, man.

Please, please..... you're making me blush. Seriously though, other sites are reporting this now so it looks like it might be true. Guess we'll have to wait till E3.

Well if this game is anything like Resident Evil Remake (which was a completely new experience compared to the original), I'm there! Also word is this game will be coming out in November!

As for MGS 3, considering how long it took MGS 2 to come out after it was first revealed, I expect MGS 3 to hit sometime in late 2005. At the earliest.
