I have a real stupid question about button replacement.
Most of all the buttons that I need to replace are short buttons with a leaf style contact that activates them. Can I replace then with the microswitch style long button?

You'll need insurance in case the game falls over on anyone or something happens while they are playing.

I forgot to mention that almost none of the games had keys. I had to bust the lock out of the back of heavy barrel to be able to get inside. Targ has a padlock on the front. I'm thinking about going back to the person I bought these from and see if they may have the key.
If they don't have the keys here is a trick to get a key. Look on the face where the key goes, there might be some #'s or letters. If you can find any of that, and the make of the lock, you can go down to a locksmith and if they are good, they will have a book with the specific code to cut you a new key. It may cost you 6 or 7 bucks for a key, but you won't have to risk damaging the cabinet or door and it will help in the sale if you have the keys.

These were in a storage cabinet and not being used. I hope to fix a couple of the machines in their store and get some more for my time. Although my wife is not looking forward to my new found hobby.
Sweet. I live in a small house and we are innundated with crap, we just have too much stuff for this small house. I plan on moving in the next year to a much bigger house with a much bigger garage so I can start on my Garagecade. My GF probably hates the idea of losing the garage to video games, but she loves playing skee ball and Puzzle Fighter. Now all I need to do is score some more redemption games at the June auction here Someone said they got a whack-a-mole game for 1$

RE : Buttons - Don't know on that, thats probably a newsgroup type question for someone with older cabinets.

Just checked the site and no new Dallas date yet. I'm hoping they keep coming back every 3 months. Next time I'll be prepared.

I didn't make it down. I did see the posting and now I am kicking myself for not making the trip.
Dek when you go to the upcoming auction would you be willing to look for a couple of things for me? The last one I was at was selling some Capcom B boards. I'm looking for the Capcom A board and couple of the B boards. I could send you some money before you go to the auction.

By the way there are no deals in Ohio. I saw on the newsgroup someguy in CA was giving away a free working monitor.

I'll keep an eye out for the boards. No need to send the money until I have them in hand. What are you looking to pay for them?

I would have bought that 720 at the auction, I'd kill for that price here in CA. I'm hoping there is a ton of them there so I can grab 1 or 2 or 3

Just got back from the teachers shop. He got almost 20 games donated for free. Virtua Fighter, Alien The Gun, Championship Sprint, Vindicators, Roadblasters, Mario Brothers, Turbo, Out Run, Tempest, Ikari Warriors, Super Sprint X 2, and a ton more.

I backed out on the Steel Talons though, not enough room. He even offered to sell it to me for 20

What? Why don't you get me the Tempest and Alien? I would let you drive them on out to Ohio and while you are here I will buy the beer and supply the games.
Couldn't you take out the dining room table to make room for Steel Talons?

The teacher gets the games donated from an old Vendor, meaning they most likely have been not working for some time, or have problems with them. He teaches the kids how to fix them, then they sell them, and the school gets money. Tempest was missing the monitor and the back door just from a glance (it was at the back of the pile, all I saw was the side art and freaked ) The Alien 3 : The Gun was in pieces. 1 gun looked ok, the other looked broken beyond recognition. They hadn't even turned it on yet. One guy tested a Roadblasters while I was there. The trigger was stuck, had some weird control issue, and a big chunk was missing out of the front panel.

I could take out the dining room table I was still going to get Steel Talons, but the GF complained the thing was going to take up a huge portion of the garage. I could make the room in the garage, but figure I'll be picking up a crapload of games at the auction and by the time I get home, she won't be able to say there is no room, I'll just have to make some room

I think I've decided the next arcade board I want to buy is Wonder Boy in Monster Land!!

Crap.. I just checked and it appears that it is not a JAMMA board.

Cool thread. I wish they had some of these auctions closer to me. I have a Galaga in a Super Pac-Man cabinet. Original boards of course.

Getting a new monitor within a week or two. Everything else in great shape. After I move into new house I'm gonna get new artwork for the front and sides.

I'm still pursuing a Wonder Boy in Monster Land board.. Super Auctions hasn't updated thier site with new dates though!! I'm probably going to pick up the board with a JAMMA adpater and get a cabinet for it at the next auction. Until then, I can play it in the Neo Geo cab.

I went to the auction this past weekend, almost nabbed a 720 but passed on it I ended up getting a All American Football 4 player for 75 bucks though. I had to bail early but there was a Top Skater there and some other games I was interested in. Oh, there was a Black Tiger there too and at the end of the auction it went for 50 bucks Had problems though, when I powered it up, the screen was inverted.

Next auction we're gonna have to meet up Dave, hopefully the next one will have a bigger selection and better prices. I don't want to have to drive to Texas to get the good deals

I went to one of these two weeks ago in Denver. We rarely get auctions but this one was a bankruptcy auction. Mostly newer JAMMA stuff though. Some Neo Geos and Golden Tees, Silent Scope and a bunch of newer ones. The vintage items were slim pickings. There was a pretty beat up Galaga coctail that I wanted. (it would have looked nice next to my Galaxian cocktail) However it went for 0ver 500 bucks. :-( I did however pick up a cherry Battlezone Cabaret. Once I got it home and broke into it I was surprised to find a full set of manuals and schematics. Couple that with 2 extra controllers for spare parts and a pristine tech sheet on the back panel, you can color me stoked. Also in the same week I managed to pick up a prisitine Space Duel. My Atari vector collection went from 0 to 2 in less than a week. Weird and wild stuff. Cheers.

Well, my excitement for the next Dallas auction just rose by 10 fold. I won a PCB for Wonder Boy in Monster Land (site in progess: (http://pixyjunket.dragonpalace.net/m...and/index.html).. and I really need to get at the least a monitor. I'm really want to build my own custome cabinet for it from the ground up. I'll be spending the weekend doing research on it, etc.. seeing if the project is too far-fetched or something I can honestly do.

The easy way out is a $50 adapter to convert the board to JAMMA and just stick it in my roommate's Neo Geo cabinet when I want to play..
