Battlefield 1942 problems
Everytime i play this game it seems to lag on me. It will be fine one minute then it lags real bad for about 15 seconds then it plays fine for about a minute. Then it does it all over again. Counter strike and other games dont seem to have an issue.
I just bought a new vid card and it still does it. What else can i check or do to try to alivate this problem?

Have you tried different servers? It could be a video setting if it's on your end,
What sort of ram are you running? Counter strike for instance is some years old.. Battlefield is one of those memory hoggers, though from the hundreds of hours I played BF, I haven't heard of a random 15 second lag here and their. My best suggestion would be that it has to do with the server.
While on the subject of Battle Field 1942, Have you tried the MOD for it? it sure is one hell of a mod if you ask me:

pretty much in it's beta state, but it updates all planes, tanks, etc. and makes it modern combat. very nicely done.

This happens with all servers. I also have 512 of ram. The video card made in big difference in the graphics but the lag is bugging.
I dont know whats up.

512 should be enough ram so I'm wondering if it's something else. like cribb suggested, are you running firewalls or anything? that could be an issue.
Check your video card settings which might be doing something that would freeze up frames. I'm not sure what else it could be.

im hooked on it! cant wait for the next version

and Dice just released another map for it! Game companies should take notes! this is how u make the customer feel appreciated! by having support for mods and free content, sigh....i wish medal of honor was like this

and as for the problem that damn_skippy is having, sounds like a program runnin in the background, maybe kazaa? maybe an anti virus as gcribbs suggested.
