The less you put on the card, the more gift cards you can buy, the more $5 off coupons you get.

That makes sense. The BB stores near me have so many cards that I've just been buying them as I need them. I didn't think about stocking up on the coupons.

Those cards should be disappearing. They are scarce in two of my three local BBs.

Also FYI, the coupons EXPIRE 12/31/03.

Looks like I'll have to stock up again. Our stores here have them all stacked up at the registers.

Yeah they expire at the end of the year, but they are bound to have something else for gamers by then.

They had these last year as well and they expired at the end of last year, and then we saw new ones with expiration dates for the end of this year.

It seemed like they were around the Holidays but most BBs around here have restocked.

For Atlanta DVDTalkers

This will only be helpful for people near Atlanta, but there are plenty of them at the Best Buy in Douglasville, Georgia (on I-20 outside of Atlanta). They're on a floor level shelf in the Gamecube section. No price is marked, but they ring up at $29.99.

Just of note to all Jersey folk...I was in the Best Buy on Rt. 46 yesterday, and they had a bunch of these carrying case/wavebird bundles on a table between the DVD's and the games for $9.99.

Sure, the coupons inside expired on Feb. 1, 2003, but a wavebird alone costs $34.99 there, so getting the wavebird plus the carrying case for $9.99 is a pretty good deal. I'm not sure if they still have them, but it's totally worth checking out.

If anyone sees these for 9.99, I'll pay you that plus shipping plus a tiny profit for up to 3 of them. 4 wavebirds would be cool!

I'll have to check out this BB that still have 4 of these about a month ago. At the very least, I want them to refund the difference for the ones I bought...

I just came back from Best Buy on Rt. 46, and they didn't have any. I asked an employee about them, and he was clueless.

No go here as well .

They have carrying cases but no bundles with wavebirds. I don't think they ever had the bundles though, just the cases that are $19.99.

Yeah, they were pretty clueless when I checked out. The cashier thought I trying to pull a fast one when he saw the wavebird in the carrying case, but then the manager came by, gave him the SKU (no barcode on the case), and then continued to talk about how many they were going to buy for themselves.

Also of note: the wavebird wasn't in the usual plastic packaging...it was in a blue plastic bag (much like the ones that GC controllers come packaged in with the system) and placed inside the carrying case. But, everything was in there, and it all works perfectly.

They had about 20 on the table when I was there (around 3PM on Sunday). I'll keep an eye out for any other BB's stockng this.

The key is: Did they scan at $9.99?

I went to the BB where I picked up a couple of these cases, and they were all out. But if the price indeed dropped to $9.99, then I can at least bring back the receipts and ask for a price adjustment...

Thanks.

When they keyed in the SKU, the price came up at $29.99, and then the manager told the cashier to override the price to $9.99. The sign at the table with all the cases was handwritten.

at this particular store (which i work at) they found all these in the warehouse and wanted to get rid of them, so they sold them all for 9.99. I got 4 at 6pm on sunday after work and i think there were less than 4 left. We had so many of them left from christmas time and the managers just wanted the extra space in the wharehouse.

Oh well, then this does not appear to be a price drop from corporate, but a manual one at the local stores at the discretion of the manager. I guess 7 months is a long time to be holding these cases on the shelves...

Like vmbeetlvr said, any BB employees that plays games would've been all over this once the price dropped to $9.99.
