I just called them up because I am trying to find C&C Generals in my town. At first he said how much are they offering off, and i said $10. He said it had to be local, and I said it was from Best Buy, the closest one is like an hour from where I live. He said he wasn't sure, I could try and bring it in... but he didn't know for sure.

there has been some discussion on this already, the general consensus was that
1) PM policy from the central office is that PM is okay on certain titles, but they have no obligation to PM on all titles
2) on a store by store, and cashier by cashier basis, some titles will be PM and some wont, it really depends on the quailty of the sales person you run into
in general i think that you should try it, bitch and complain when they wont PM, maybe call a CSR and complain, then goto their competetiors and buy ti from them

You can thank Best Buy for killing EB price match policy.
When they offered Vice City so cheap the first week, it really scared the crap out of EB.
They rely on the preorder, first one to get it. Best Buy was supposedly selling it below or at cost.

Don't quote me on this one, but I think there is a $10 coupon in a recent EB catalog for C&C Generals, effectively making the price 39.99 and making the issue moot for this particular title.
As for the price matching in general, I agree that they should have a single easy to follow policy, but I also understand why they are backing away from it. What I really don't understand at all is all the people who get mad at the companies who go out of their way to get plenty of copies of a game, two or three days earlier, and keep it in stock the whole time, but they never seem to get mad at the guys who advertise a price and never back it up with product.
PS I hate Best Buy.

MrKen, you forget to mention the mall stores grabbing all the copies early and then gouging the prices $5 to $10 more the first couple of weeks.
Thank God for Best Buy/Circuit City/CompUSA or we would probably be paying $60 for new games (if EB had their way).
