Classic Poll Week #1: Balloon Fight vs Joust

What we have here are essentially the same game.
One was loved in the arcade, and the other was loved at home.

What games did you enjoy more and why?

I'm voting for Balloon Fight. I felt that it wasn't as frustrating as Joust, and it had a nice little single player adventure mode. Another factor may be that I was not old enough to go to the arcades during this era, so while I was able to stay home and play Balloon Fight on my Nintendo, Jouse sat in the arcade unnoticed..

Joust, no question. Balloon Fight is fun enough but it don't beat the real thing.

I still remember the highest level I got to on Joust. It was a Saturday morning, me my brother and our Atari 400. We played two player, he finished after about 15 minutes. I don't know how long I played but I remember having to quit because the parents wanted to watch something on tv. Level 156 is where I had to quit. Damn! I wonder how far it would have gone.

Woo!! I'm not alone!! (but close)

An Arcade Museum came by Dallas in 98 and they had a Joust 2 machine.. very rare. Needless to say I spent a good few dollars on it. Was tres cool.

Joust on the 5200 was awesome! It seemed like that was the first time an arcade game was faithfully recreated at home.
