Hey Guys since I went to the .065 of Mame32 my Vector Graphic games will not play. Looks like some sort of Res issue as it scambles my desktop an only comes back when I escape. Running XP Pro 256 Megs of Ram

mame.dk doesn't offer ROMS for download any more. See the "The End" box on the left hand side. One guy sued them, so they took them all down. I actually downloaded every ROM from them manually back in the day (I think 0.59)...

Actually, they still do. Like the other poster said, you just have to register first.

I just downloaded Killer Instinct (still unplayable though ) and Spiderman last week.

Wow, that's great. Guess they didn't announce it in their newsletter...good to see them back.

I think they are trying to keep it quiet so that they don't run into the same bandwidth and legal problems from the past.

What does everyone use as a controller? I'm new to MAME and my gamepad isn't cutting it!

What front end are you guys using for this project? I lost interest in building one last year after I couldn't find a front end that I deemed to be suitable.

I'm using Mame32. I started setting up my Favorites folder the other night, to make it a little easier. I still use the mouse to pick my game, but once I'm in it totally goes to my control panel, so it works well enough for me.

Tabletop cabinets minus monitor and computer for 200 for single player, and 220 for 2 player. Damn good price.

I just recently got the new .65 ROMset and noticed that newer games like Cruisn' USA crawls at a snail's pace on my 1 Ghz Athlon. Anyone know what the minimum requirements are for this game?

I'm pretty sure that one is more or less unplayable right now. So is Killer Instinct, for that matter. And a few others. They are estimating that 4 Ghz machines might be able to handle them.

It WORKS, it's just not playable. It's one that you need the hard drive image for as well as the ROM.

I tried playing it the other night and it was like watching a slide show.

Well, I don't know anything about u64, but I assume it's emulating the Nintendo 64 version of the game? If that's the case, MAME is trying to emulate the full-blown arcade version, which runs on some very intense hardware, if I remember correctly. And if not, then ignore me

I think that's the problem with it anyway.

Edit: Huh. Actually just looked at the info about KI on mame.dk and it looks like someone wrote a driver to make it work properly. I'll have to try that when I get home. I think AutoFrameSkipping needs to be off too.

cool. i'll have to check it out as well..

fyi, u64 emu is not a nintendo 64 emulator - it's a Nintendo Ultra 64 emulator (nintendo's arcade system which the arcade KI runs on)...

Sooooo... Can anyone recommend a good light gun to use for games like Point Blank? And does it just plug into USB or go through the joystick ports?

Edit: I just did a google search for "light gun mame" and found this: http://www.act-labs.com/scripts/proddetails.asp?pid=132

It seems that the act labs is the one everyone uses, according to the message board on www.arcadecontrols.com

Re: MAME Cabinet: COMPLETE!

Is anyone on here still into mame? I dont feel like registering on another forum to just ask one question (and probably get laughed at)

Is it possible to create a pinball mame table? I'm talking about buying a cheap used pinball table and gutting all the parts. Then placing two 28 inch flat screen monitors lying flat on the table. The Flippers would be replaced with the digital buttons. I did see some software that would rotate the monitor display. And I'm guessing you can stretch the image to the two monitors. Is this even possible?

Re: MAME Cabinet: COMPLETE!

No need for Mame with XBLA. Less hassle.
