Godzilla hits the XBOX - sweet!!!
From XBOX.IGN:
Sweet!!!!!!!!!!
Jeremy
January 22, 2003 - Atari has announced that Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee, originally released for Gamecube, is coming to Xbox with a monster (excuse the pun) load of new features. They are:
Mechagodzilla 3 (from the latest Godzilla film released in Japan) is a new playable monster.
2 new rings: Vortaak Home World and Boxing Ring.
Ability to have three CPU-controlled bots.
Single-player Destruction Mode where you can tear up a city all by your lonesome self.
Support for customizable soundtracks.
Improved responsiveness, combos, and collision detection.
Updated graphical effects including reflection maps on buildings, bump-mapping, improved animations, smoke-emitting smokestacks, improved impact effects, specular highlights, high-res skies, improved lighting model and terrain, high-res movies and textures.
Improved framerates and loading times.
Up to four saved games at one time.
Whew! It seems that Pipeworks Software and Atari are taking their time to make sure that the Xbox version of Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee will be the one to get (not that the Gamecube version wasn't already an excellent game). This is a trend we'd like to see more often when games are ported to other systems.
Check back with IGN for more info as the game's Spring release date approaches. Until then, check out what we thought about the Gamecube version by clicking here.

It's a 3D fighter with a four-player beat-'em-up mode, set in downtown locales.

Sounds like they are really focusing on fixing the problems with the GCN version. I personally can't wait to rip some of those classic Godzilla soundtracks while I'm playing. What an experience!

I'm a Godzilla freak so I'm really looking forward to this game.

Yep!!
I read about it yesterday and it sounds owesome.
I seen the GC version at EB and I liked it and this Xbox version seems to be more complete and interesting. I've always been a Godzilla fan and this game will make a nice place in my collection.
Where is the LIVE Feature!?
It doesn't matter!
bring it on!

I'm totally stoked. Bots for four player action?!? XBOX graphics?!? Customizable soundtracks?!? Godzilla?!?!?!?!?!?!

You're right, if they added XBL support this game would sell like hotcakes. Maybe we can pursuade them?

I found the GC godzilla entertaining for about 5 minutes. Multiplayer added another 10 minutes to the fun, but overall I would never buy this game.

I agree....the only reason I bought this game was due to the $20.00 price tag I received through gexpress.com. Sold it on ebay the same day I received it. Decided that I can get my Godzilla fix through the movies of old.

This is great news. I like to see when ports get added attention, not just turned out to increase the number of games sold.

Time to resurrect this one for some recent news. From XBOX.IGN:
Still, pretty sweet. I wonder what downloadable content there will be? The potential for new monsters and maps though makes this a sure-buy.
Jeremy
And, unexpectedly, Xbox Live functionality will be included. Though we're not sure what will be available, there is an option to "Get Updates" through Xbox Live. New monsters and levels, perhaps? We'll have to wait and see. No online head-to-head play, though. Sorry kids.
