1 & Only Dead Or Alive XBV thread

Acutally I did pick up the Sims on a trade in. It's ok, I played it most of the day yesterday. I don't see how it's the best selling PC game of all time, but it is pretty addictive.
But I haven't gotten to a part where I had to make someone else happy yet either. I think I'm at that type of objective now, as I need to get a new roommate to finish the third "level."
I can see it getting old pretty quick though. But it is a good time waster as you can just pick it up and play for however long you want.
But for DOA, I really couldn't stand having to do all that crap just to play volleyball and win new outfits. Not my cup of tea. But I did put that third on my list for a reason. I wouldn't write off the game just for the gift giving and crap. I write it off because I don't like volleyball, and the "babes" are a turn off.

My favorite (laughable) thing about this forum...reading posts from people who take the time to enter a thread about a specific game or system and give their personal negative opinions even though they have not played one hour of the game or own the system.
It is not just this thread but others as well.

Argh, I just found out from the official DOAX site that Hitomi pees in the pool.(caption on a screenshot) I'm not going to give her that carton of Orange Juice from Zack of all Trades, now.
Christie might be a cold blooded killer, but at least she has good personal hygene and respect for the pool.

I mean you have to play a game to say that the gameplay sucks.
But you don't have to play a game to say that it's a lame idea, or that it doesn't interest you at all.

Same with movies. I can see the previews for one of those lame ass Rob Schneider movies and no that there's no chance in hell I'm going to like them.

Read my post. I find it funny that people take time out of their day to read threads and then write their opinions (usually negative) on games and systems that they have never played or owned. I never said you couldn't do it. It's a free country. I still find it funny both of you may not.
If you do the same thing with movies or music in the other forums, people usually call you on it but somehow it just seems different in the video game forum.
Back to the topic of DOAXVB...

This is the most ridiculously fun, infectiously addicting game I've played in years. I played for more than five hours straight this morning, something I don't think I've done since Warcraft II was first released years ago. I'm generally the type of person to pick up a game, play it for 20 minutes, and that's all the gaming I do for the next few days.

I put a lot of time into this game and still thnk the v-ball gameplay is as shallow as it gets. The camera is terrible, and if your character is off-screen, you have no idea where they are. Love the T&A though. Unfortunately as a party game it doesn't hold up well, being only 2-player.

I got it this weekend as a birthday gift. I'm having a lot of fun with it but will agree that the actual volleyball is not that great. It's simple, which is fine.. I think my problem was that often my partner would become retarded, but that's all akin to the fact that you have to keep your partner happy. When they're happy they're usually on top of things. Only had 1 time where the camera angle really screwed me, so can't complain too much about that.
Of course the real fun in the game is dressing up your girl
MMM.. pale skin Christie with black nailpolish and a pink 2 piece..

Actually spent a long time playing it this weekend. The parts I didn't think would be interesting end up being the most entertaining (after zooming the camera in on the "point scored" celebrations of course). Lisa has quickly become my favorite.
Surprisingly I found the gift buying and suit shopping strangely intriguing. Trying to get your partner to stick around and still get her in the skimpiest suit possible kept my interest. Yeah I know it's a cheap thrill but that's what this game is all about.
The volleyball games are simple and fun, but I wish they put more into them. That and they need more girls to choose from and more interaction off the volleyball court.

The casino was my downfall though, I never been dealt so many 12's and 13's in BlackJack in my life. Makes it hard to make the 1,000,000 necessary to get Lisa in that Venus suit.
I'd have to say that while this game wouldn't be worth the full $50 It is way better than I initially thought.
The real question now is...when do we get "Britney Spears---Extreme Beach Volleybal"??
