40 next Saturday--that dumb football game was out when I was in Junior High (Coleco, I think), then my cousin (Tsar Chasm from this board, in fact) got Atari when I was in HS, and I've loved playing video and then computer games ever since.

I don't have kids, so I don't even have that excuse. Oh well, all my friends from high school, and most of my brothers all play them too.

This thread makes me so happy! :D:D:D:D

I'm 27, been playing consoles since the magnavox oddessey. I currently only own a PS2 and SNES, but I want a GC badly. I've never been into PC games b/c I felt the interface was not as engrossing as sitting on a couch with a controller with only 6 buttons rather than a 101 key keyboard (and I never had a computer that could run any cool games:P ). But now that I have an up-to-date computer, I'd like to check out some of the great PC games that I've missed.

P.S. I'm also 3 years married, no kids. My wife understands that this is my entertainment medium of choice and is totally supportive. :)

I'll be gaming till I'm dead and buried.

24, feel like I'm skirting the "over the hill" age though. Been playin since ye ol atari days, started with the ummm 5600 i think (the big ol one that took up your entire desk). Had at least one console for each gen and frankly I'll prolly have at least one console for each gen from here on out....hahha, just too much fun to give up.

I'm 38 and still playing the PC games. My sons (8 & 11) have a Gamecude and PS2 that a play a little. You can't beat the graphics on the PC. My dad (58) is still playing PC games. He still has an Apple II with a 4 digit serial number. I remember playing that to death...

36, 2 Kids, 2 Car Payments, 1 mortgage, and I play XBOX daily. Current poison is MechAssault on the big HDTV coming through in digital perfection through the optical outs. Been playing since the 70's when we got a pong machine for christmas.

I also live in KC :)

joltaddict 01-05-03 09:08 PM

Geez, looking through this thread are there ANY kids on this forum?

Gromit 01-06-03 07:14 AM

31, married, no kids.

My wife doesn't mind too much. Actually, TiVo has allowed me to play video games. My wife records her favorite soap operas daily. I hear this a lot: "I'm going to go watch my shows, you wanna play video games?"

Tandem 01-06-03 08:40 AM

49, going on 16 here, no kids. My wife discussed having kids some time ago and we decided that kids shouldn't have kids so we never had any.

You have to grow old, but you never have to grow up.

Shadow Ace 01-06-03 08:53 AM

Well, I may not be the oldest (34), but I think I have the lead in the "kid" department with 4. I've owned systems since "pong", although I've skipped a few generations. I currently have a PS2, PS1 and NES. The PS2 gets played daily by me and the kids, although it's usually late at night when I get my shot! I also play PC games pretty religiously. Just to carry on the tradition, I bought GBA's for my two oldest for Christmas.

What's funny, is one of my kid's favorite games on the PS2 is playing Namco museum....PacMan, Ms. PacMan, Galaga, Galaxian, Dig-Dug, etc. Some games are timeless!

With people living til their 90's now a days, is 30 really over the hill.

SpaceBoy 01-06-03 08:55 AM

26 here. Had every Nintendo product minus the virtual boy and new gba. Also had the Turbo Graphics 16 & cd, lynx, game gear etc.

Currently just got a gamecube, and nes, and would love to pick up a super nes for some u.n. squadron and some others.

Don't get to play to much, my goal is an hour a day, but don't norm get that in. My gf who I live with, doesn't mind, she likes me better since I started getting back into games, then going out drinking every night, and causing trouble.

I think it's cool to see so many older games on here. I don't plan to ever give them up..

AGuyNamedMike 01-06-03 09:09 AM

35 and about to get married again. I started with Telstar Pong, still have my 2600 and Wico sticks. I've had the Sinclair 1000 (actually a PC, though I mostly just played games with it), NES and Sega Genesis and still play my N64. I am not a serious console gamer, I prefer to play a hell of a lot of Tribes2 and UT online with my trusty PC.

finbogg 01-06-03 09:54 AM

I'm 30 (barely got my foot at the bottom of the hill) and married for a little over a year. I pretty much play games any chance I get. I remember playing PONG with my neighbor and have and XBOX, DC and a high-end PC today.

Those of us who are around 30 (and over) are the true video game generation (not these punks today :) ). We were there from the beginning and have kept up with it longer than anyone thought. Hopefully someday people will begin to understand that video games aren't just for kids.

Edison 01-06-03 11:17 AM

37, married, 2 kids. Been playing games since I had the stand alone pong unit, got a SEARS video arcade (cheaper than the 2600) and been playing a mixture of PC/Consoles ever since. Currently have XBOX, GC, PS1 hooked up and the kids have a PS1 in thier room too.

vbellino 01-06-03 12:50 PM

I'm 31 with 4 kids, an XBOX and a PS2. If only I could wean myself completely from sleep I'd be in good shape.

DVDs4ME 01-06-03 02:44 PM

33 next week, married 10+ years, my 5 year old is playing my N64, my 7 year old loves my GBA and I have and Xbox that gets my time. It started with my Atari 2600 when I was 8 or so. I have played PC games starting with Scorched Earth and some BBS text games before Castle Wolfenstien 3d totally sucked me in. I cant get enough.

I will stop gaming when they pry the Dual Shock 2 from my cold, dead, arthritic fingers :D

silentbob007 01-06-03 07:41 PM

My dad is 53 and has been fighting me over GCN time for Metriod Prime all winter break ... though he says that he's not quick enough to beat the "big" monsters.

DeepBlue 01-07-03 02:23 AM

is 36 over the hill ? :(
single female
no kids

Been playing for about 7 years now - PC games - mostly single player RPGs and FPS, online Everquest and Dark Age of Camelot. Tried PS2 and I am considering buying it, there is something about lounging on a sofa watching toons on a decent sized TV :)

The only thing I don't like about gaming is that people tend to give me dirty looks when I admit I like video games..... gaming seems to be a guy thing.... oh and I never get enough sleep.

WhattheFFF 01-07-03 03:18 AM

I bought my dad who's almost 50 a Platinum GC for Christmas, he'll probably never buy any games just play my old ones, right now he's totally hooked on Animal Crossing
