I am 27 years old (the 1979 in my username is my birthyear). I started gaming when I was 2 years old on my dad's Atari 2600. I still remember the first time I saw Super Mario Bros in 1985. I thought it was the coolest thing I had ever seen.

I also still remember Haunted House on the 2600. It was the first survival horror game, and it scared the shit out of me when I was 2 years old. Now I look back and think I must have been retarded to be scared by that game.

38 here. Must be my old age that makes me so bad at COD2! :-) Been gaming since Jr. High with the Atari, Colecovision, Intellivisioin, Sega...etc...if it came out, I had it. :-)

I'm 38 with 3 kids, currenly have 5 systems hooked up 2 GCN, PS2, N64, and SNES. I have every system I've ever owned still Atari 2600, Colecovision, Intellivision, NES, Sega Genesis, Sega CD, PS1, Neo Geo, XBox, and every Game Boy made (not every color though) - hopefully that's all of them. I started gaming on the 2600 but some of the best early gaming was at General Electric, my dad took me to work on the weekends back around 1979 and I played Classic Adventure (xyzzy) on a teletype computer terminal (it was all printed, no monitor). We then played games on Commodore PET computers, all text based and loaded from audio cassettes, good times! My 11 year old wrote a bio for a play he was in - "My dad likes video games, and so do I.", brought a tear to my eye...

With the prices of consoles and games, you have to be well into your career before you can afford them! I'm early 30s, and am just starting to play 360 online.

33, one child, 3.5. So far he's played the Dora the Explorer game, he's tried a couple of race games, and he's watched me play golf, Super Monkey Ball, volleyball, baseball, and he liked watching the main character run around in Digital Devil Saga.
My bought us an Atari 2600 not too long after they came out, and one of my birthday presents was Defender, which caused my first all-nighter that wasn't at a sleepover or something.
I don't do a whole lot of online gaming, they are primarily populated by a totally different demographic, one that I don't particularly enjoy.
I usually focus on one console per generation, for both financial and time reasons. Though I haven't owned a Nintendo console since the NES, the Wii, apart from the name, is looking very intriguing.

That's GOT to be it! I'm 37, married with kids, and have been at it since the 2600. I'm halfway through COD2 on Veteran, but for some reason when it comes to Live Capture the Flag or whatever, I feel like I totally suck. Age has gotta be it, right?

As far as it goes, I'm glad to have something my kids like to do that I also like to do. My wife gave me a little grief about it a while back, but after talking to a friend of hers whose husband passed out drunk on their driveway and had to be dragged to the emergency room to stop the bleeding from his head, she said "Play all the games you want."

Hi. My name is Aaron. I'm 38 and yes, I'm an old gamer. It all started with the coin-op PONG. From there, it all went to shit. I thought I could kick the habit after I handed down my game consoles to my younger cousins in the early 90's, but I would still frequent arcades. And now, I've purchased a PS2 and own a PSP. I've been buying games that are great deals and have gone from no games to 15 in 3 weeks. Help me with my addiction. :(

I had no idea you were so old :O

I'm 27 and I've been a gamer ever since I can remember, I've had most but not all of the consoles at one point or another. :)
