What import games would you like to see on your console?

Everyone knows about the big Sega announcement, and it got me thinking. The announcement was for Japan releases, and it remains to be seen which titles will actually make their way stateside (there will unavoidably be a few, but not all).

So my question is, of all the import titles you've ever seen or played or heard about, which ones would you like to see on your console (regardless of platform)?

Here's my list:
  • Sakura Taisen - I've always wanted to play this title, or any of its subsequent sequels. It's amazing that this series has done so remarkably well in Japan but never released here.
  • Tokimeki Memorial - I actually got to play this one, with the help of a novel of FAQs and the occassional help of a friend who knew a little bit of Japanese (not much though). It didn't seem like this would have taken that many resources to make this one ready for the US, and with all the press it was getting it should have been a no-brainer, at least for a limited run.
  • Policenauts - Some good old school Japanese 2D adventure. Plus it's the continuation of the Snatcher universe. What else do you need?
  • Devil Summoner - I was really steamed when Atlus decided to can this title for the US release. And after playing its sequels (Persona series), I could never figure out why it didn't. Such a refreshing take on the old school RPG - replacing swords and scorcery with demons and ghouls, and the devil himself.
  • Let's Play Pro Baseball - Something about creating and managing a team of super-deformed baseball stars really interests me. But on a related note, I've always wanted Sega to add all the Japanese teams and stadiums with their WSB series. Now with DVD format, I couldn't see why not. They could add both sets of commentary - Japanese and English. You could quite possibly play US Giants vs. Japanese Giants, in Tokyo, with Japanese commentary. Now THAT would be cool. And then you could have a true World Series...
I'm sure there's more I can't think of, but that's what this thread is for. Looking forward to seeing everyone's posts!

Jeremy

There were a few games I wanted to play for the N64 that never made it over here. Sin and Punishment was one, maybe Custom Robo also. I can't think of any others right now.

Ape Escape 2! It's a crime that nobody wants to publish this game in the US. I know there are a glut of quality platformers for the PS2 out right now, but c'mon it's Ape Escape!

and while we're at it, I'd like Bust a Groove 2 and Gran Tourismo Concept as well.

Most game companies suck. Even if they would localize a game here, fans would still find the localization job sucky and have something to bitch about. I pretty much had it and decided to localized myself by mastering Japanese.

I don't even know much about the import game scene - I have Bio Hazard: Director's Cut, that is it. Guess I need to catch up on that, because I'm sure there is something there to interest me.

Policenauts - Some good old school Japanese 2D adventure. Plus it's the continuation of the Snatcher universe. What else do you need?
That one sounds good - I remember for years I wanted Snatcher for the Sega CD, and my parents wouldn't buy me the Sega CD. I still really want Snatcher and Night Trap, but don't think it would be worth dropping like $50 for a CD unit for them..... isn't Snatcher available as a Saturn import? Maybe I can get that if I find a 5-in-1 cart for my Saturn. Argh, too much money.....

I've always wanted Super Robot Wars... which is all but impossible due to the licensing issues and the obscurity of classic Giant Robots in America.

I believe that Sakura Taisen is finally being released here...

Overall, I'm happy that more and more stuff is coming over here. A few years ago, I never thought I'd see so many Gundam games, let alone a Godzilla game. Even a game like RAD might not have come out a few years ago...

You do know you can get Hundred Swords for the PC here in the states, don't you? Check GameStop, I saw it there for $9.99.

Good luck,

Dracula X: Rondo of Blood.

If this were released as Castlevania Chromicles 2 I'd be a happy boy

Jikkyo/Konami Powerful Pro Baseball!!!

Big Head fun baseball game of Japanese teams with the best VO for an announcer ever. To be honest, I would love a US playable with English text but keep the Japanese teams and commentator... too fun!

There is a new Vib Ribbon game. It uses online text files to make songs on the fly, or some such. I think it's still all being worked on. Looks interesting.

Valkyrie Profile. I got to play a little of this game while I was in Japan, and I loved the combat system. It would be great to see this game on the PS2 with some updated graphics.

Wasn't Valkyrie Profile for the PS1 released here by Enix? It didn't do all that well, I think, partially because of the major glut of RPGs at the time.

I'd also like to see more Langrisser (Warsong for the Genesis) games coming out. I'm hoping that the popularity of Advance Wars will help bring these out.

I've got Vib Ribbon, its a pretty neat game to play with friends because when they usually have way different CD's than me. I remember when theGIA was around they were practically the only site that covered this game and they used to put up fanart that people made of it, it was hilarious!

I have actually played Tokimemo too, it actually wasn't that bad though I probably wouldn't want to play too many of those types of games.

I would have liked to play is Sin and Punishment but we'll never seen a sequel because Treasure is against sequels .

Policenauts, Snatcher are games I've also heard are good. I predict konami might make remakes of them (not sequels)......i hope anyway because they sound great!

And i can't forget The Legend of Starfi!! Its not a zelda type game is a side scroller like mario and a real shame it didn't come out here

If only one game series could come here, I would want Sakura Taisen. It would be great if Working Designs localized it since they did a pretty good job with Lunar.
