Xbox Live availability

Anyone know if they're selling out quickly at Best Buy and other places? Trying to decide if I need to make a quick trip before the end of the work day.

You should be able to place an order online at Best Buy or Circuit City and schedule an instore pickup (so you don't waste a trip and find out it's out of stock). It's easier to do pickup at CC, as soon as the order is placed it's ready for pickup - Best Buy makes you wait for the store to confirm your order.

For those going to B&M, my BB had a pile of them at 2PM and not a soul around. Doesn't appear to be a big draw in my area.

All the game shops in my area (Herald Square, NYC) were sold out of XBox Live by lunchtime. I can't speak for Best Buy or Circuit City, but EB, GameStop and the small mom-and-pop stores in the area were out of stock.

I got the impression it was selling like hotcakes, but maybe not nation-wide?

When I got off of work, I went to a 24-hour Wal Mart (just after midnight) to pick it up...got the last one, woman at the register asked me what is was as she had seen 10+ in the last half hour and wanted to know if it was connected to star wars in some way...

When I went to Best Buy this morning to pick up the cat5 cable I forgot at Wal Mart , they were sold out of Live so I'm glad I didn't wait.

Online order-instore pickup sounds like the safest option to get it today.

The EB near us here sold out in about 15 minutes.

Between that and UC it was pretty crazy.

I ended up going to a Best Buy B&M, plenty in stock, they had a table set up as you walk in with Xbox live and all games that take advantage of it. This was the Pasadena, CA store, around 3pm there were at least 15-20 of them on the table.

I went to EB Games to pick up Unreal. The Sales Clerk told me they sold out via their pre-orders. I guess they didn't order enough.

Look me up, I'll be playing Mech & Unreal tonight:

Went with a friend to Comp USA to buy his. Everyone was sold out this morning, but Comp USA doesn't open till 10am so we were the first people at their door. While we were at the check out about 7 people came in asking for the kit.

Went into Best Buy today to pick up some other stuff, heard the Best Buy salesman tell a customer that they had some Xbox Live kits set aside for customers buying an xbox bundle.
